"Kreacher, the time when these things happened..." Vizet asked, "do you still remember?"
"Kreacher remembers very clearly... Mr. Lovegood..." Kreacher answered. "It was in 1979... Master died too, because he was overcome with grief..."
"And my poor Mistress... she missed Master Regulus every day, but Master Regulus had given Kreacher an order, so Kreacher could not say anything... Later, she died too..."
"1979?" Vizet looked at Dumbledore. "Headmaster Dumbledore, that point in time... is rather delicate."
"Voldemort back then was different from the Voldemort I've encountered now. He must have been much, much stronger than he is now, right?"
"You're not wrong." Dumbledore nodded in confirmation, understanding what Vizet meant. "Put that way..."
"Voldemort was not so active during that period... Perhaps he had poured all his energy into that cave. It should have contained a great deal of his effort..."
Sirius Black tried to follow Dumbledore's warning, attempting to calm himself as much as possible.
The truth Kreacher had spoken had struck him far too hard.
After becoming a Death Eater, Regulus had died at Voldemort's hands...
Regret and heartache—that had been his attitude toward Regulus before.
Yet at this moment, Sirius Black's heart was filled with nothing but unending pain and remorse.
There had always been a barrier between the two brothers, and they had never truly managed to communicate.
He remembered the few times he had met with Regulus; it seemed he had always been the one speaking self-righteously, trying to persuade him, hoping Regulus would understand what the right choice really was.
In Sirius Black's eyes, his younger brother had been a gentle young man without much will of his own.
He had never imagined that his younger brother would give up his life without hesitation in order to oppose Voldemort.
Memories from the past reappeared
