Snape had a deep understanding of the soul, and even though this magic, based on the Patronus Charm, had not yet been completed, it still had an extraordinary effect.

This magic could create an environment related to the soul. With Snape's precise control added in, it could be used to gather Bertha Jorkins' Memory Fragments.

Vizet only needed to use the "Spirit Needle" from the "Soul Healing Art," treating Snape's magic as the "thread," to sew together the gathered memories.

But when he began the sewing, he realized that the "thread" he was using actually came from Snape's memories of Bertha Jorkins.

Bertha Jorkins had been several years above Snape, yet she had left a very deep impression on him.

There were not actually many of these memories. Summed up, they amounted to just a few sentences: she loved meddling, could not keep her mouth shut, easily leaked secrets between students, and gave no thought whatsoever to the consequences.

Vizet could even imagine that if he asked Snape, "Why do you have memories of Bertha Jorkins, that upper-year schoolmate?"

Snape would probably show a look of disgust and answer in a disdainful tone, "She was stupid enough to be memorable."

Combining Snape's memories of Bertha Jorkins with Bertha Jorkins' own memories was enough to maintain the existence of her soul.

But it was limited to maintaining the existence of her soul. Most of Bertha Jorkins had already disappeared, to the point that she even needed to start from babbling like an infant.
