Weekend in the Hospital Wing
When Wizet regained consciousness, she was already in the Hospital Wing.
The Hospital Wing didn't smell of disinfectant like the hospitals in my previous life; instead, it had a unique smell of various herbs mixed together.
A faint scent reminiscent of lavender lingered around my nose.
The sunlight was just right, streaming through the window and falling on the sheets, making everything feel warm and cozy.
Bright sunshine...
Hospital Wing?
He remembered that when he lost consciousness, the sun had just set, but now it was still afternoon sunlight.
This means that he spent almost a whole day in the Hospital Wing.
Professor Quirrell's lectures...
Wizet struggled to get up, but was stopped by an invisible and gentle force.
What followed was a dull, aching pain that circled around my forehead, like a dream of a past life, the feeling of doing exams for two consecutive nights.
"Child, you're awake!" A woman's face, weathered by time, suddenly appeared before me.
It was Madam Pomfrey. She helped Wizet up and brought her a measuring cup steaming with silvery mist. "Does your headache still linger? Drink this!"
Wizet covered his forehead; the dull pain became even more pronounced as he stood up.
He nodded and said with difficulty, "Thank you, Madam Pomfrey."
"They actually ended up here because of overworking their brains..." Madam Pomfrey muttered to herself. "I think it's tolerable for fifth and seventh graders to be like this."
"But you can be a freshman! As a Ravenclaw, aren't you putting too much pressure on yourself? You can relax a bit, after all, you're going to be here for seven years..."
"Didn't we meet before? I told you then not to use the Baruffio's Brain Elixir... You don't have it, do you? You absolutely mustn't develop a dependency on it!"
"Of course not." Wizet shook his head helplessly, bringing the measuring cup to his lips. "I'll be more careful... This was just an accident..."
The Potions itself has no taste; upon tasting it, it has a viscous texture, similar to porridge that has been cooked into a paste.
Then came the fragrance of lavender, and the soft, granular texture slowly slid from my mouth into my throat.
"Alright, lie down and rest again!" Madam Pomfrey instructed.
The Potions worked very quickly; less than three seconds after he took it, and just as he lay down on the bed, he felt the dull pain subside.
Then drowsiness came over him, and he lost consciousness...
When he woke up again, the same bright sunshine was there again.
He did a quick calculation and realized that two days had probably already passed.
Not only did they miss Professor Quirrell's lecture, but they also missed Professor Snape's lecture.
The thought of this made him feel uneasy.
He wanted to know about Professor Quirrell's current situation, and at the same time, he didn't want to miss out on the knowledge of both professors...
His roommates were the first to come to visit him. They surrounded Madam Pomfrey, asking her all sorts of questions, wondering if he had suffered any aftereffects from fighting the Troll that required hospitalization.
At first, Madam Pomfrey would answer politely, but soon she got annoyed and, using the excuse that "the patient needs rest," pushed her roommates out.
Next up were Penelope and the Quidditch team members. Learning from their roommate's experience, they barely exchanged a few words before being asked to leave the Hospital Wing.
Harry and the others arrived as well, but under Madam Pomfrey's intimidating presence, they could only lower their voices as much as possible and whisper three greetings.
Ron said, "George and the others told me that you got a headache because the Troll hit you, right?"
Wizet rubbed his temples. He finally understood why his roommate was so anxious and wouldn't let go of Madam Pomfrey.
Hermione blushed and said, "Thank you for speaking up for me... I wouldn't have become friends with Ron and Harry without you."
Harry was about to say something when Madam Pomfrey interrupted him, "You may all leave!"
Harry bravely defended himself, "But I didn't say a word..."
Madam Pomfrey raised her eyebrows. "The patient needs rest. You've already said one sentence! That makes three sentences in total!"
With Harry's "Ah!", the three were wheeled out of the Hospital Wing.
Wizet ate a simple meal, mainly some pumpkin oatmeal porridge and stew.
There were also several oil paper packages on the table, containing some candy, cakes, cookies and dried meat;
And a silver object, from which a white, wispy smoke emanated, the scent of lavender.
Madam Pomfrey said, "The snacks came from the new students at Hufflepuff. I didn't realize you were so popular!"
"The silverware was a gift from Professor Quirrell, who told me to light it, saying it would help relieve headaches."
"Professor Snape examined it and added some lavender essential oil before letting me light it."
Mention Snape and Snape immediately comes to mind.
He walked silently into the Hospital Wing, holding a cup of Potions emitting silvery mist—the same Potions that Wizet had drunk the day before.
Wizet noticed that Snape's gait was a little strange, but didn't have time to look closely.
Before Snape, Snape glanced at Wizet one last time before turning away with a slight smirk.
Wizet thoughtfully reached for the table beside her, wanting to pick up the notebook.
"Can you take a break?" Madam Pomfrey said with a hint of exasperation. "Your level of diligence... surpasses that of most Ravenclaw I've ever seen."
"Excuse me, Madam Pomfrey, I need to write down the recipe for this Potions ..." Wizet took the Potions and took a small sip.
"This scent is definitely lavender, but I'm not sure if it's a tincture or an essential oil... I'll take another small sip!"
"It should be a tincture! The alcohol evaporates during the boiling process... The particles that come into the mouth are Moonstone Powder!"
"What's that viscous texture? It's probably a mixture of Moon Dew Honey, nectar, and Mugwort Infusion; it tastes a little sweet..."
He tried to deduce the exact recipe for the Potions, using the techniques Snape had taught him.
As the Potions in the measuring cup dwindled, Wizet's eyelids grew heavier and heavier. He forced himself to finish the last stroke before finally drifting off to sleep.
This action deeply saddened Madam Pomfrey.
After sealing the gates of the Hospital Wing, she immediately rushed to Snape's office.
Upon seeing Madam Pomfrey for the first time, Snape immediately frowned and said, "The Potions is wrong? Impossible!"
"Aren't you putting too much pressure on that child?" Madam Pomfrey questioned. "He started taking notes as soon as you left."
"Taking notes?" Snape was a little confused. "What kind of notes? And why did you come to me?"
Madam Pomfrey crossed her arms. "He was tasting Potions while calculating the recipe. Was that homework you assigned?"
"Calculating the formula?" Snape's eyelids twitched. "So what if he is? It's his job as a student!"
"But he is a patient now!" Madam Pomfrey was a rather gentle person, but when it came to dealing with patients, she always argued her case.
Snape said calmly, "Then I'll make more Potions... until he's healed."
After seeing Madam Pomfrey off, Snape's lips moved, and he shook his head slightly, saying, "That lad!"
