When Hagrid saw Vizet and the others, he smiled and waved in greeting. "Oh! Vizet! Harry! Are you heading to the Quidditch Pitch?"
"Right, of course!" He turned and glanced behind him, rubbed his hands together, and said, "They're announcing the Third Task tonight!"
Everyone could hear the overflowing anticipation in Hagrid's voice when he said it.
Harry asked curiously, "Hagrid, did you just come back from the Quidditch Pitch?"
"Yeah!" Hagrid's eyes were shining. "I just finished discussing a few things with Bagman..."
His voice rose on those last words, as though he were singing opera. "But there's no helping it. If I want the little darling to perform better, I've got to talk to him more..."
"Um..." Harry pressed his lips together and instinctively exchanged glances with Vizet and the others.
Vizet rubbed his brow, the corner of his mouth lifting in a faint smile as he shook his head.
"Little darling..." Harry looked up at Hagrid again. "Hagrid, this little darling you're talking about... you don't mean the Fire Dragon, do you?"
"Not that. Those Fire Dragons have all gone back to the reserve." Hagrid's expression sobered a little, and he gave a soft sigh. "But there's no helping that either. Bane and the others had a lot to say about it..."
Draco raised a hand expressionlessly and pressed his tie back down after Hagrid's sigh had blown it up.
The reason he was expressionless was mainly that last school year, he had learned Hagrid could defeat a Troll bare-handed.
