Voldemort sent the Inferi to attack, but Draco's Radiant Illumination destroyed them, prompting Voldemort to cast the Killing Curse at Draco before Dumbledore intervened.

  • The Dementors fled in terror, and Dumbledore realized Luna's Corporeal Patronus had driven them away.
  • Hagrid led Centaurs and other magical creatures out of the Forbidden Forest to join the fight.

  • Voldemort’s glance distracted Draco, but Lucius Malfoy tortured the Dark Wizard who nearly hit his son, and Draco stunned him and broke his Wand.
  • Draco and Lucius defeated another Dark Wizard, then retreated from a charging Chimera while Draco tried to repel it.
  • Lucius shielded Draco from the Chimera’s tail, but Vizet’s owl summoned lightning that struck the creature, and Draco finished it with the Killing Curse.
  • Lucius recognized Vizet’s owl as the source of the lightning while a Troll sent Ministry of Magic employees flying with a tree.
  • Hagrid charged the Troll, knocked it backward, and punched its head down into its chest.

Ch. 1952The Weakness That Was Made Up For

Hagrid used Vizet’s Magical Artifacts to defeat a Troll and then rushed to help Ron and Hermione, who were struggling against Dark Wizards and Quintapeds. He arrived just in time to save Ron and showed how easily he could overpower a Quintaped.

  • Hagrid defeated the Troll with his increased speed, and Lucius Malfoy and Draco realized Vizet’s Magical Artifacts had compensated for Hagrid’s weakness.
  • Ron’s repeated use of “Manifestitch Timoris” worsened his headache as he and Hermione fought Dark Wizards and four Quintapeds.
  • Hermione restrained one Dark Wizard, while Ron narrowly dodged another’s Killing Curse after falling to the ground.

  • Hagrid used Quintapeds’ leg joints to defeat them while Hermione and Ron subdued the Dark Wizards nearby.
  • Hagrid explained that treating a Quintaped’s leg as its head gave it a human weakness, and Hermione and Ron realized Harry was not with them.

Harry, Hanna, Ginny, and Neville coordinated to defeat the Trolls while Ron, Hermione, and Hagrid arrived to support them. After Luna struck down an Augurey with lightning, she flew off to aid another part of the battlefield, leaving the others to continue fighting.

Harry, Ginny, Hanna, and Neville fought a Troll before Xenophilius Lovegood arrived and quickly incapacitated it and three more. After revealing the power of Vizet’s armor and learning Luna had defeated an Augurey, Xenophilius set off to hunt for more dangerous creatures.

  • Harry disarmed a Troll, Ginny summoned its tree back onto it, and Hanna bound it with Devil's Snare while Neville prepared to strike.
  • Xenophilius appeared and used bursts of red light to knock out the Troll, then defeated three more after Hagrid lured them over.
  • Xenophilius explained that he had ambushed groups of Dark Wizards and was targeting Trolls because Vizet's armor was so powerful it could injure allies in close combat.
  • Ron told Xenophilius that Luna had flown away as an owl, and Hermione and Ron explained that Luna had defeated the chicken-headed Augurey with lightning.
  • Xenophilius praised Luna, told the others to stay safe, and continued searching for dangerous creatures.

Ch. 1956Battlefield

During the Battle of Hogwarts, Canaan Auror Jonathan joined Benjamin Netanyahu’s Dark Wizard group after they killed his companion, then helped them target weaker parts of the battlefield. The group came under attack from an ambush of at least seven opposing wizards.

  • A Ministry employee watched Dark Wizards kill two of his colleagues before they were struck by a Blasting Curse.
  • Jonathan and another Canaan Dark Wizard called out to Benjamin Netanyahu’s group from a crater, but Yair killed one of them with a Killing Curse.
  • Benjamin threatened Jonathan with a Killing Curse unless he rejoined the group, and Jonathan chose to follow him.
  • Benjamin led the group around the fiercest fighting to attack exhausted enemies, and Jonathan began to understand his battlefield skill.
  • Benjamin warned Jonathan about a spell from the left, but the red beam hit a Dark Wizard behind him as they faced an ambush by at least seven opponents.

Ch. 1957The Command Grows Further Away

Jonathan and the Dark Wizards fought an ambush under Benjamin Netanyahu’s orders, but Benjamin used them as cover while secretly retreating. Jonathan realized the deception just before a Stunning Spell knocked him unconscious.

  • Ambushing wizards attacked Benjamin Netanyahu’s group, killing and injuring several Dark Wizards in the opening volley.
  • Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the survivors to fire Blasting Curses while he targeted the ambushers with Killing Curses.
  • Jonathan followed Benjamin Netanyahu’s commands, but noticed that the ambushers still had six wizards despite Benjamin claiming they were dying.
  • A Cutting Curse severed Jonathan’s wand and wounded his shoulder as Benjamin’s voice grew more distant.
  • Jonathan realized Benjamin Netanyahu had escaped using the group as cover, then a Stunning Spell knocked Jonathan unconscious.

Ch. 1958We Can Only Counterattack Quickly!

Percy treated an injured Dark Wizard while Fred and George brought in Benjamin Netanyahu, a captured wizard from Canaan who answered Percy's questions under the effects of a potion. Percy learned that the Canaan group had come to help He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named take Hogwarts, leaving the Ministry employees to consider the threat as the battle continued.

  • Percy healed a badly injured Dark Wizard while Ministry employees argued about whether to help their enemies.
  • Fred and George arrived with Benjamin Netanyahu, whom Percy identified as a wanted criminal from Canaan.
  • Percy questioned Benjamin and learned that the Canaan wizards had come to help He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named take Hogwarts and had been told not to hold back.
  • Fred and George admitted that Benjamin had taken Vizet's practice potion after they threw candy at him to stop his attack.
  • Fred wondered aloud whether Vizet might have brewed Veritaserum.

Ch. 1959We're all family, don't we know you?

Percy revealed to Fred and George that Herpo’s followers planned a sacrifice to summon the Moon Eye, which Benjamin Netanyahu said would descend soon. The group then found Cedric and Cho Chang fighting Dark Wizards, and Fred and George joined the battle with Magical Fireworks.

  • Percy told Fred and George that Herpo, not Voldemort, had ordered the wizards to prepare a sacrifice for the Moon Eye’s arrival.
  • Percy, Fred, and George agreed that delaying the Moon Eye’s descent was their best option.

Ch. 1960Is This Phoenix Sick with Some Strange Illness?

Percy and the Ministry employees defeated the remaining Dark Wizards, then a dark-red phoenix healed Cho Chang and the other victims of Dark Magic. The story ended with a Dark Wizard waking to see the phoenix’s tears, despairing over his missing Wand, and passing out again.

  • Percy led the Ministry employees in repeated volleys of Stunning Spells that knocked out the remaining Dark Wizards.
  • Cedric dispersed the smoke, and the employees searched the unconscious Dark Wizards and confiscated their Wands.
  • A dark-red phoenix healed Cho Chang’s wound with a tear, while another phoenix failed to produce any tears and pecked Fred when he teased it.
  • The dark-red phoenix healed the other injured Ministry employees, its feathers growing dimmer as it shed tears.
  • A Dark Wizard briefly woke, saw the phoenix healing the injured, realized his Wand was gone, and fell unconscious again.

Ch. 1961Until I Met Those Professors

As the war dragged on, Dark Wizards expecting to overwhelm ordinary Ministry fighters instead encountered Hogwarts professors whose spells and traps quickly defeated them. The chapter left them facing the terrifying consequences of underestimating the professors, especially the one who used Sectumsempra.

  • Dark Wizards expected to defeat the Ministry's weaker fighters, wear down the Aurors, and eventually help Voldemort kill Dumbledore.
  • A diminutive Professor evaded the Dark Wizards' attacks, knocked them out with precise spells, and stacked their bodies aside.
