"Ms. Morgana, what did you need me for?"
Carl's clear voice came through.
It was hard to imagine that such a clear, youthful voice belonged to a cosmic god of death who spread fear.
Morgana did not hide Carl's voice, so the Demon Soldiers behind her heard him as well.
They had originally thought Death God Karl would be a skeleton wielding a scythe and draped in black robes, or perhaps a cloud of lifeless black mist. They had not expected the truth to be so different.
"As expected of the Queen! She isn't even the slightest bit intimidated by Death God Karl!"
One of the demons began flattering Morgana.
"Of course. I'm your Queen."
Morgana lifted her chin and said smugly, "Hey, Carl, you still there?"
"Go ahead. I've been listening."
"Good. Then let me ask you, have you been spreading some damn death god faith on Earth? Saying that after death, people get to meet you?"
"What kind of death god faith is this? Do you know how much it's interfering with my efforts to turn people on Earth into demons?"
Morgana looked at several Egyptians beside her, their heads wrapped in white cloth.
Every one of them was as stubborn as a mule. They refused to become demons no matter what.
Even when threatened with death, they claimed they would meet the god of death after dying.
