Aemon secured Dorne’s submission, reshaped the royal council, and organized the Reach’s grain supply while taking in Giants and Children of the Forest. He then traveled to Qohor to explore its resources and smithing secrets, where a fight among the children strengthened their bonds around Gaemon.

  • Aemon recovered House Drumm’s Valyrian Steel sword Red Rain from Grey Shadow and gave it to Aemond, while Qoren learned his leg injury might leave him unable to walk and asked to speak with Alexandra.
  • Aemon captured Sunspear with the Unsullied, forced Qoren to bend the knee, and arranged Aemond’s betrothal to Alexandra as Dornish nobles continued to resist.
  • Aemon publicly recognized Gaemon as his son and a royal prince at Aemond’s betrothal celebrations, then quelled a brawl between Dornish and Westerosi nobles and imprisoned Geralt and Cole.
  • Aemon appointed Corlys Hand, Johanna master of intelligence, and Bathimos Master of Ships, then left King’s Landing with his family to secure grain from the Reach.
  • Aemon agreed to shelter Giants and Children of the Forest, taught Jaehaerys the Illumination Art after he hatched his blue egg, and flew back toward King’s Landing when Stormcloud went missing.
  • Aemon found Stormcloud safe at First Flame Peak with Urrax, learned that Dragon Silk Root helped dragons grow, and approved Corlys’s grain-trading plan while preparing to develop Dorne’s Arm.
  • Aemon traveled to Qohor with his family, met Daemon and Little Aegon’s maternal grandfather, and examined Daemon’s settlement, the volcanic mountains, and their mineral deposits.
  • Aemon sent Gold-Nosed Rat and Little Mole to survey a dormant volcano, then learned that Aegon had injured the blue chick and insulted Gaemon before Gaemon and the other children beat him.

Arc 14The Nassos Campaign

Aemon maneuvered Morr’s claim to Qohor into a war that brought him to Nassos, where he built a foothold and gathered allies. As Norvos and a massive Dothraki khalasar moved against him, Aemon used Vermithor to break the khalasar and continued the pursuit through the hills.

  • Aemon met Morr, who claimed to be Viserys’s cousin and offered Qohor if Aemon would govern it, but Viserys placed him under house arrest.
  • After Sorrin seized Qohor and marched against Daemon, Viserys appointed Aemon field commander and sent him east to support the campaign.
  • Aemon joined Daemon at Nassos, accepted the city and eight hundred men, and made Dondarrion his commander and guard.
  • Aemon’s forces defeated Bartoto’s Norvoshi army, and Torrelo used the prisoners and captured supplies to restore Nassos.
  • Norvos hired a vast Dothraki khalasar, which occupied Gorthadot, but Laenor and Seasmoke helped Robb Rivers’s Second Sons break through the Dothraki forces in the Velvet Hills.
  • Aemon won Bartoto’s loyalty by promising to abolish the bearded monks’ oppressive rules, then led a small force toward Khal Syxem’s khalasar.
  • Vermithor attacked Syrsaem’s khalasar with dragonfire, killing Saidako as he fled, and Aemon ordered the dragon to pursue the scattered Dothraki.
