Background / History

Chen was trained in swordsmanship by Wei Yanwu, her uncle. Her training includes seven named Chixiao techniques: Draw Sword, Tear Gale, Chase Night, Raise Eyebrow, Absolute Shadow, Cloud Split, and Heaven's Roar. Chixiao proved difficult for her to control in her early use of the weapon, prompting her to push herself to become faster and stronger. 160 186

Before openly working with Shirou Emiya, Chen independently investigated the disappearance of Infected people in Longmen's Slums. While disguised as the Hooded Figure, she pursued Shirou after mistaking him for a suspect, but he escaped. 112
