The Rommel Family declared war and began targeting people who had helped oppose it, leaving Qu Jianlei and Zi Jiuxian weighing their response.

• Qu Jianlei buried Steve, discovered the Broken Hairpin among his possessions, and used its energy to ease his injuries before Old Lady Jia identified it as a rare defensive artifact.
• After investigators questioned Qu Jianlei about the battle at Looking River Tower, he learned the military was seeking him and accepted Zi Jiuxian’s offer to travel to Fourth Star as a temporary academy assistant.
• At the Engineering Academy, Qu Jianlei rescued an Awakened student from Robin Han’s group, then joined Zi Jiuxian and Xiang Xue in defeating Gao Telo and Schleek when they attacked him.

• Wei Shile investigated evidence that Tesla was a spy, then disappeared with a Rank B subordinate after Qu Jianlei killed them both.
