I took the unknown fruits and began eating them. I believed Zeus would not poison the fruit; someone as powerful as him would disdain doing such a thing.
Besides, if he wanted to kill me, I might not even have the strength to fight back if he attacked directly.
"Is it good?" Zeus smiled at me.
I nodded. I had to admit, the fruit was indeed delicious, and after eating it, I felt much more energized.
"But you still shouldn't eat too much. It can temporarily stimulate the nerves and produce a certain excitatory effect. Of course, that probably doesn't mean much to you." He picked one up as well, but only held it beneath his nose and sniffed it without eating it.
Even its scent carried a refreshing fragrance.
"So you brought me here just to let me taste these fruits?" I asked.
Zeus set down the fruit in his hand. "Of course not. I asked you here because I need your help!" More help. First Hera, and now him. This husband-and-wife pair really acted as though burdening others was the most natural thing in the world.
"Go ahead. Let me see what it is and whether I can help." Naturally, I could not agree outright.
"I want to ask you to help Hera complete her resurrection plan," he said.
I frowned, pulled out a cigarette from my pocket, and lit it.
I noticed a slight change in his expression. He seemed to dislike the smell of tobacco.
But so what? I could not care less.
Only after blowing out a ring of smoke did I say, "Even if you hadn't come to me, I would have helped her. And you should know that I agreed to her request and formed a partnership with her."
"I know." Zeus nodded.
