Background / History
Jiang introduces himself as Jiang Xiaobai, though numerous groups address him as “Mr. Jiang.” His identity is repeatedly tied to earlier versions or incarnations of himself: the Jiang Family fears him as the reincarnation of the King of Hell, while Guiguzi later identifies himself as Jiang’s creator and calls Jiang his spokesperson 241 967.
Sun Bin states that Jiang had sealed Long Xiao—a fusion of Ying Gou and Hou Qing—within his own body. Long Xiao’s existence gives Jiang access to a powerful but unstable internal ally, whose awakening and freedom remain recurring concerns 240.
In the Barren Realm, Jiang learns that Jiangnan, Wuka’s former leader, had tried to establish a new order against the Asura King’s dominance. Wuka’s succession plan names a future bearer of Jiangnan’s ring as Jiangnan’s reincarnation and the organization’s new leader; Jiang is recognized under that arrangement 273 276 280. Jiangnan later reveals himself as one-third of the King of Hell’s avatar and admits that Jiang’s arrival in the Barren Realm caused his death 284.
A hidden village later identifies Jiang as the “Mr. Jiang” of its past through a preserved portrait. According to Village Chief Tao and Fifth Uncle, this earlier Mr. Jiang opposed the creation of the Administration Bureau, warning that centralized authority would trigger resource wars and accelerate Earth’s destruction 585.
Guiguzi eventually restores Jiang’s sealed strength and organizes his memories. He also confirms that Jiang’s promise to release the Dark Matter entities will be honored, despite Guiguzi’s overwhelming authority over them 967.
Personality
Jiang is cautious in negotiations and rarely accepts cooperation without examining the other side’s motives. He questions proposed alliances, demands clear exchanges of interest, and remains skeptical even when facing powerful organizations or advanced civilizations 678 1594 1614.
He prefers strategic pressure to reckless confrontation. During negotiations with the R-class returnees, he uses their internal hierarchy, R9’s status, and the threat of renewed disorder to force R5 back to the table on his terms 1726 1734 1735.
Despite his pragmatism, Jiang places significant value on responsibility and promises. He risks conflict with the Master of Guixu to fulfill his commitment to Old Man Yuan, and later accepts responsibility for the safety and conduct of twenty thousand returnees within Great Xia 1883 1746.
