It had to be said that Ye Jinghong's reminder had come at just the right time.
I had only been thinking of learning more about this space from that person and had overlooked the danger he might pose to us.
I asked Ye Jinghong, "What should we do, then? Ignore him and keep moving forward?"
Ye Jinghong pursed her lips, then nodded. "I think that's the safest option. We can explore this place ourselves. At the very least, everything here is restricted by the laws of time, which gives us a major advantage."
A Tai and Jiang Xiaohui nodded together.
Since that was what they all thought, it was naturally hard for me to insist otherwise.
We bypassed the cross and continued onward, but we stopped again after walking less than a hundred meters.
Another enormous cross appeared before us. Someone was nailed to it, and that person was reenacting the same scene as before.
We subconsciously turned back, only to discover that the enormous cross behind us had vanished. All we could see was the entrance to the canyon.
In other words, we had not bypassed it at all. We were trapped in the same place.
I smiled bitterly. "Looks like we can't get around it."
Expressions of understanding appeared on Ye Jinghong and A Tai's faces, but Jiang Xiaohui became somewhat excited. "It's like clearing a level in a game. We have to pass this stage before we can continue deeper inside?"
His analogy actually made some sense.
A Tai said, "Looks like that's our only option. But what should we do?"
I said nothing and walked straight over. I chose to ignore the actions and words the guy on the cross kept repeating. What I was thinking about was how to get him down from that cross.
