Much of the time, our perceptions were misplaced.
For example, when Ying Gou said that this space was actually not very large, only about the size of a few football fields, I was quite shocked.
I had even thought that this space might have been pieced together from several separate spaces.
Because in my perception, this space was enormous, with many areas connected together.
First there was the ancient castle when we entered, then the small chapel, then the boundless sea of blood, then the bottom of the cliff...
I had walked a great many roads in this space, and in my memories, those roads had all been incredibly long and distant.
But now Ying Gou was telling me that this space was only about the size of three football fields. In other words, if you stood somewhere high enough, you could take it all in at a glance.
How could that be?!
"Certain people, certain events, even certain scenes can be magnified in your mind. This magnification is more of an amplification of emotional experience, and its purpose is to strengthen the pull of those emotions. Doesn't the sea of blood feel terrifying? When that sea of blood is magnified in your mind until it seems boundless, that terror is likewise multiplied countless times. Once your emotions have been magnified countless times, your perception will naturally no longer be real."
Ying Gou spoke calmly.
I looked at Ying Gou. "So you knew where they were? Or rather, ever since we entered this world, you were able to see everything we went through, right?"
Ying Gou thought for a moment before finally nodding. "You could put it that way. Think of this space as a sandtable. You entered the game, meaning you entered the sandtable. Everything you saw and heard
