That counted as democracy, in a way.
So when Ying Gou asked me to consider their request to have Ancient Shu City send a small team into the world first, it would also allow me to figure out what standards should be used for the Three Great Ancient Clans entering the world.
That night, First Elder Quan personally came to apologize to me again. This time, he kept an extremely low profile, completely at odds with his flamboyant personality.
I knew he was swallowing his pride for Ancient Shu City to enter the world. Although he believed they did not need anyone's approval to do so, he now had no choice but to follow Ancient Shu City's rules and respect the decisions of the Council of Sages and the Three Great Elders.
"Mr. Jiang, I was reckless before. I hope you will not take it to heart," First Elder Quan said softly as he looked at me.
I smiled. "You flatter me, First Elder Quan. I never took it to heart. Besides, you did not mistreat me."
"Mr. Jiang, Ancient Shu City still hopes to contribute its modest strength to the great battle ahead."
That was his true reason for coming
