"The Doctor you know is a madman," the pseudo Doctor said.

I said nothing.

He sighed. "I used to think I was capable of standing against him. After all, he and I were originally counterparts. Do you understand what a counterpart is? It's my definition for myself in parallel time-spaces—myself in other parallel time-spaces."

I nodded slightly.

He gave a bitter smile. "I originally thought that counterparts in every parallel time-space shouldn't differ much, that at least some basic parameters would be the same."

"Wait, why would you think that?" I suddenly found it strange. The same person in parallel time-spaces might have completely different life paths, so how could they possibly be the same? Besides, he had mentioned a term—basic parameters.

It made it sound like a factory assembly line.

His eyes widened. "You've never thought about this question?"

I stared at him with wide eyes as well. Could he be about to come up with another bizarre idea?

They had already stunned me enough. If he proposed some new theory, they really would drive me mad.

"Ah, it seems you truly haven't seriously considered this. Let me ask you: why do parallel time-spaces exist?"

I didn't answer. With my limited knowledge, this question was difficult to answer. I couldn't even clearly explain some of the principles of space.

Even though I had already learned how to make use of certain spatial principles.

"I don't know whether your world has this theory, but the world you live in may very well be a gigantic laboratory. Humans, as well as all other living creatures, are merely test subjects in that laboratory. I can't say who controls this laboratory, but I believe there is an eighty percent chance that the laboratory theory is true."

I nodded. "That laboratory theory does exist,
