What the pseudo Doctor said really did leave me confused.
Though he left some things unsaid, he was clearly implying something.
The "me" who had captured Zeng Dajiang was very likely in cahoots with that cunning cat.
One had captured Zeng Dajiang, while the other had pointed me in the wrong direction and led me straight into the pseudo Doctor's territory.
The pseudo Doctor said it was to create friction between us, so that either the bull killed the horse or the horse killed the bull.
In short, the goal was to make us kill each other.
The pseudo Doctor brought up the idea of laboratories. I had considered that possibility before, but his thinking was even bolder. He viewed every parallel dimension as one of several laboratories, testing whether countless counterparts would arrive at the same fate after experiencing different paths in life.
That was what the Experimenters wanted.
The speculation was indeed hard to believe, but the more I thought about it, the more it seemed possible.
It also made me think of something even more terrifying.
Where had we counterparts come from? We all appeared to come from the same mother, but our mothers should have had counterparts of their own. Every counterpart was supposedly an independent individual, yet that clearly was not the case.
Independent individuals could never be so astonishingly alike. Counterparts were like products cast from the same mold. How were they any different from products rolling off a factory assembly line?
At that thought, I could not help sucking in a cold breath.
Where did humans come from? Did the Theory of Evolution really exist?
If the pseudo Doctor's and my hypothesis was correct, then humans had been "manufactured" by the Experimenters. I desperately did not want to believe it was true, but
