Ying Gou said softly, "So this was its true purpose?"

I said nothing, but it was not a bad use for it.

This time, I had Wang Chan's stone statue walk in front. The moment it entered the passageway, it suddenly sped up.

We sped up as well, but a burst of flames suddenly erupted from the wall. Fortunately, Jiang Xiaohui was not the one charging ahead this time—it was Luffy.

Luffy reacted quickly and sprang back at once.

"That almost burned off my fur." It treasured its coat. Though it was a mechanical beast, it looked little different from a real leopard, just as no one could tell that Monkey and Conan were mechanical beasts either.

"Hey, Wang Chan!" I called out, but the statue did not respond. It had already turned the corner ahead and disappeared from our sight.

"What do we do? We shouldn't have let it walk in front." Jiang Xiaohui said.

I looked at the restored wall and felt that there had to be some sort of mechanism there.

But why had nothing happened when the statue passed through?

"Search around and see if there's some kind of mechanism," I said.

Xu Qiuyan was the first to move, while Jiang Xiaohui also approached the wall beside him.

Monkey said, "I'll try to see whether I can get through. Maybe the mechanism is on the other side."

It made sense, so I said to it, "Go ahead, but be careful."

Monkey smiled at me. "Don't worry. I'll treat it like clearing a game level. Besides, my reaction speed is much faster than that leopard's."

Luffy glared at it unhappily but did not argue.

Monkey headed straight forward, moving at a slow pace.

Yet strangely, it passed through just like that without triggering the flames at all.
