the Five Elders of Mount Shu set up an altar, hoping to lure Wang Ming out.

However.

They failed to lure Wang Ming, but instead drew out the Evil Sword Immortal.

The Evil Sword Immortal's strength was not actually greater than that of Qing Wei. Their combat power was roughly similar, and Qing Wei's might even surpassed the Evil Sword Immortal's.

Yet,

because the Evil Sword Immortal had been born from the evil thoughts of Qing Wei and his four junior brothers.

They were originally of one and the same entity.

The most bizarre part of it all was that if the Evil Sword Immortal struck Qing Wei and the others, Qing Wei's group would inevitably be injured; and if Qing Wei and the elders attacked the Evil Sword Immortal, the ones who still ended up getting hurt were Qing Wei and his companions. (I vaguely remember this setting existing; if it doesn't, just treat it as my own modified lore.)

Precisely because of this, Qing Wei and the others were defeated in less than a single round.

Before they were beaten by the Evil Sword Immortal, the Five Elders of Mount Shu were still harboring sweet dreams of maintaining absolute control over the situation.

Therefore,

they exerted pressure using the Great Cause of All Living Beings, ultimately forcing the Saintly Aunt of the Nanzhao tribe to bring the next generation of Nanzhao descendants to Mount Shu.

The Water Pearl was also extracted from Qing'er's body by the Five Elders of Mount Shu.

The karmic backlash of a Nanzhao descendant's death was far too massive for the Five Elders of Mount Shu to shoulder, so they guided Jing Tian and the others to the City of Seabed to seek out Shui Bi and obtain the Sacred Spirit
