Garp kept too close an eye on Haku, so he never had a chance to get near him.
To prevent Haku's whereabouts from being exposed, Garp even hid him away! His goal was clear—he wanted to train Haku into a qualified Marine soldier.
And it was precisely this action that led to only a very small number of people in the Marines knowing of Haku's existence!
If Haku had shown his brilliance early on, there probably wouldn't have been anyone in the Marines opposing him becoming a Marine Admiral!
At this moment, Haku himself stared at the Hollow Mask in his hand, lost in deep thought.
After resting overnight in his quarters, he slowly recalled what had happened the previous evening.
All Haku knew was that last night, he had showcased the cooking skills he'd honed over a lifetime in his past life, making a full table of dishes to share dinner with Momousagi!
Having made his signature dishes, he was still wearing the Hollow Mask, which meant he couldn't eat.
Later, the moment he took off the Hollow Mask, his mind went into a daze.
That meal, Haku ate in a fog, and by the end, he didn't even know how he got back to his own quarters.
As for Momousagi, halfway through dinner last night, she keenly noticed the subtle changes in Haku after he removed his mask.
She had long understood that the inexplicable affection Haku felt for her came from that mask he took off, which left her feeling a strange sense of disappointment.
So, she turned her frustration into appetite, devouring all the dishes Haku had made!
Once he had recalled enough, Haku shook his head with a wry smile and put away the Hollow Mask in his hand.
Then he opened his own Status Panel.
Name: Haku
Weapon: Ryujin Jakka [Shikai Unlocked] [Bankai Unlocked]
Skills: Three Types of Haki [Intermediate] Six Powers [Mastered] Kido [Destructive Arts] [Binding Arts] Asauchi [Great Swordsman Level] Shunpo
Special Item: Hollow Mask [Unmastered]
Haku looked at all the text on the Status Panel and let out a long sigh of relief.
He recalled that he had unknowingly been in this world for 17 years, and the strange system attached to him had been with him just as long.
At first, Haku thought he had been reborn into an ordinary world, until his parents were killed. When he was taken to his aunt, Portgas D. Rouge, at just two years old, Haku instantly realized he had crossed into the world of One Piece.
And by then, the Great Pirate Era had already begun because of Gol D. Roger's final words.
When Haku learned of Rouge's identity and saw her belly, pregnant for who knows how long, he got a headache! Even with the system, there was nothing he could do as a two-year-old!
Later, Garp appeared, and he successfully became the man's grandson. Because of Rouge's situation, Garp dumped Haku in Foosha Village to live for a while.
Of course, that inevitably led to him meeting Luffy and his two brothers.
After that, one day when Garp came to Foosha Village to visit his three grandsons, he discovered Haku's talent and the Ryujin Jakka in his hand. Without a second thought, Garp took Haku away and began training him in the Marines' systematic methods!
As his thoughts turned, Haku shifted his gaze to the system panel.
Honestly, Haku's system had been with him for a long time. Aside from issuing one or two long-term missions and their rewards, it had no other functions!
And this system was also very aloof—unless it involved system-related matters, it stayed quiet most of the time! It never appeared unless Haku actively summoned it.
The strangest thing about this system was that before you completed a mission, it absolutely refused to reveal the mission rewards!
But because the system's rewards had always been tied to Bleach, Haku assumed he was bound to a system related to that anime. However, the system, which rarely spoke, denied this, stating that it only gave rewards suited to his use!
Haku understood! That meant completing the system's missions could also yield items or skills from outside Bleach.
With that in mind, Haku's gaze dropped to the Quest Menu.
This time, his mission was: Kill God Enel! Seize the Rumble-Rumble Fruit ability!
How to describe this mission? The easy part was killing Enel—with Haku's current strength, taking down a Logia Devil Fruit user who only knew Observation Haki was a piece of cake!
And seizing such a powerful Logia Devil Fruit ability was something Haku was more than willing to do.
But the hard part was how to reach Sky Island?
That was indeed a tough problem!
As far as he knew, there were two ways to reach Sky Island: The first was through the normal route, starting from Sky Peak and passing several Sky Islands along the way. As long as you searched carefully, you'd eventually reach Angel Island!
The second was to ride the so-called "Monster Current," the Upward Sea Current, to get there directly, but the survival rate was extremely low. Haku could use Spiritual Pressure to stay airborne for a while, so he didn't have to worry about survival. But others wouldn't be so lucky!
After thinking it over, Haku decided to start from Sky Peak. If he found a permanent Log Pose for Jaya Island, he believed it wouldn't take long to reach God's Island, Upper Yard!
But finding God's Path would definitely take a lot of time—would Sengoku agree to let him be away for that long?
That was hard to say, so Haku decided to go test the waters with Sengoku right away.
So, Haku put away his Status Panel, straightened his clothes, and then left his quarters, heading toward Sengoku's office.
In the hallway, Haku encountered many Marine Soldiers, who cast curious and awed glances at him. Though Haku had become famous in the Marines a bit late, his strength and presence made no one dare underestimate him.
Arriving at the door to Sengoku's office, Haku knocked, then pushed it open and entered.
Sengoku was at his desk handling documents. When he saw Haku come in, he looked up, a hint of surprise on his face.
"Haku, what brings you to see me?" Sengoku asked.
Haku walked up to Sengoku and said, "Marshal, I have some important matters I'd like to discuss with you."
Sengoku put down the documents in his hand, gestured for Haku to sit, and then asked, "What is it? Go ahead."
Haku organized his words and said, "Well, I'd like to requisition a warship to set out from Sky Peak and head to Sky Island!"
Sengoku frowned. He didn't understand why Haku wanted to go to Sky Island.
