Tsunade is a descendant of the Senju Clan and the granddaughter of Hashirama Senju. Despite this lineage, Kei initially considers her to have inherited little of Hashirama's Sage Body potential, with those genes remaining recessive rather than absent. 49 171

Before becoming Hokage, she is already famed as one of the Sannin and Konoha's foremost medical ninja. Her medical expertise lets her convert food into chakra and replenish the chakra stored in her Mitotic Regeneration seal, allowing her to eat heavily without losing her figure. 39 50
