Shrek Academy was founded by its first dean, Flender. Yu Xiaogang—the Master—and Liu Erlong were also central early figures; according to Bei Bei, Yu Xiaogang established foundational teachings for its departments and the Ten Core Competencies of Martial Souls. 43

Six thousand years before the main events, Dean Liu Feng led Shrek to its historical peak. During his tenure, it reportedly accepted students without talent requirements, charged low tuition, had no division between inner and outer courtyards, and emphasized both cultivation and moral character. 286

The academy’s leadership nevertheless treats him as talent to be secured. Xuan Zi believes Shrek can mold him into its own image, while Yan Shaozhe and other senior members seek to draw him into the academy permanently. 36 96

Internal controversies

Shrek faces scrutiny over Zhou Yi’s harsh instruction, its protection of Fan Yu for his Soul Engineer potential, and the expulsion of gifted students. 49

Ma Xiaotao’s loss of control over her Evil Fire Phoenix Martial Soul further exposes the academy to criticism.
