Homelander least wanted to see Su Quan. Su Quan, on the other hand, was happy to see him—every meeting brought benefits.

Like the Heat Vision last time, or the flight he'd just gained.

"Nothing to say? Then I'll talk."

Su Quan walked over to Queen Maeve, looking down at the silent Homelander. "She's mine now. If you can't flip the table when facing me, don't do whatever you want."

"If you're a dragon, you coil. If you're a tiger, you lie low. If you're a dog, don't strut too much around me."

"I think you know better than anyone—no matter who it is, gut them, skin them, and they're just meat."

"Now. Anything to say?"

Faced with Su Quan's warning, what could Homelander do but stay silent?

Su Quan picked up the bank robber's gun and handed it to Queen Maeve. She looked at him, confused.

"Isn't this what you two used to do? Kill someone, then fake an attack or resistance. This time, you pull the trigger."

Queen Maeve reacted. With a strange expression, she aimed at Homelander, who had just gotten to his feet, and pulled the trigger.

"Rat-tat-tat—rat-tat-tat—"

Gunfire thundered like a storm. Bullets rained down.

In the past, faking the scene always meant Homelander shooting himself. She never thought the tables would turn. It wouldn't hurt him, but Queen Maeve felt—this was satisfying!

Su Quan felt even better.

The Watching Battle drop rewards arrived right on schedule.

"Ding!"

"Battle detected. Dropping rewards—"

"Ding!"

"Battle detected. Dropping reward: Super Hearing (Homelander)."

"Ding!"

"Battle detected. Dropping reward: Super Endurance (Queen Maeve)."

For the first time, Su Quan felt the world was this noisy and chaotic.

The sound of shell casings bouncing off the ground was like drums and gongs right next to his ears. Homelander's and Queen Maeve's heartbeats, along with his own, boomed like popped balloons.

A gentle breeze, the clamor of voices, the flow of traffic—every sound was crystal clear, all captured in his ears.

It made him feel like he was in a garden, surrounded by buzzing bees, droning endlessly!

Adjusting his hearing back to normal, Su Quan glanced at Homelander, whose face was ashen with rage he dared not voice. He gave a faint smile, pointed at his own eyes, then at Homelander

I'll be watching you.

Homelander's face darkened further. He opened his mouth, hesitating as if to say something, but Su Quan just nodded at Queen Maeve and vanished with a whoosh.

"Shit!" Homelander exhaled in relief, then couldn't help but curse under his breath in anger.

Queen Maeve shot him a sideways glance. These two encounters with Su Quan had completely knocked Homelander off his pedestal in her eyes.

Whatever he could do, Su Quan could do too.

And even better.

What he couldn't do, Su Quan could.

And more.

What did Homelander have to fight Su Quan with?

The wheel of karma turns; retribution never misses. Faced with absolute power, Homelander was no different from anyone else. He too felt fear, dread, and bowed his head!

"Don't think that just because you've latched onto him, you can look down on me. You're not qualified. A bitch is always a bitch!" Sensing Queen Maeve's shift in attitude, Homelander snarled in anger.

Queen Maeve silently looked behind him. Homelander's expression froze. Did he come back?

He turned his head. Nothing behind him. No one.

Realizing what she'd done, Homelander glared furiously at Queen Maeve.

"You dare play me?!"

Queen Maeve showed no fear, giving a cold, mocking smile. "So what if I played you?"

Would Homelander dare hit her?

He wouldn't!

Even beating a dog means checking its owner.

Queen Maeve didn't care what Homelander thought of her. In this world, everyone was a dog, and no one could escape the chains around their necks.

Money, work, life—different shackles had long since stripped people of true free will.

Homelander was no exception—around his neck hung the same shackle called "the superhero persona."

Perhaps only the mysterious and powerful Su Quan could possess true free will.

Night.

Dimly lit streets.

Deep in a secluded, shadowy alley, behind an unremarkable iron door, lay a lavish nightclub.

Most of the patrons in this club were the so-called upstanding superhuman heroes of everyday life.

Here, they could indulge their filthy vices without worrying about paparazzi snapping photos.

Almost every male member of The Seven had been here!

At that moment, Su Quan sat in a booth in the corner of the club, drinking with Starlight, whose expression was pained, smiling as he watched the indescribable debauchery around them.

"Why did you ask to meet here? This place—this place is more depraved than hell! I can't believe those superheroes who look so noble and righteous on camera are such—such bastards behind closed doors!"

Starlight felt the very air reeked of filth and corruption, making her want to gag with every breath.

Su Quan draped an arm over Starlight's shoulder and gestured toward a man not far away.

"Elastic-Man Izkiil, the one who preaches across the country, calling for 'prayers to make all homosexuals disappear.' Right now, he's got a man in each arm."

"Disgusting hypocrite." Starlight glanced once and quickly turned her head away, feeling her eyes had been sullied. "Let's go somewhere else."

Su Quan shook his head, leaning back against the sofa. "What do you think a superhero is?"

"Protecting the weak, saving people from disaster, bringing hope and light to ordinary folks!" Starlight answered without hesitation.

"Naive!"

Su Quan let out a scoff. "In this world, superheroes are just products for Vought International to make money and boost influence!"

"Don't rush to deny it—most people become superheroes for money and fame! Helping the weak and spreading love and peace is just part of the job."

"You're no exception."

"If you only wanted to help people, why did you want to join The Seven? Why did you take the initiative to meet me? Don't tell me you don't know what that means!"

Starlight, her veil of modesty torn away, retorted with a pained expression, "Joining The Seven is my dream, and it lets me help more people."

"Oh, really?"

Su Quan casually pointed at two men who had just walked in.

One was plainly dressed, his shocked expression suggesting he was taken aback by the debauchery; the other wore a black trench coat and a thick beard, his demeanor utterly composed.

"That scrawny, flustered one is Hughie. Did you see the news about A-Train saying he ran over a girl who darted into the road while chasing a criminal?"

"His girlfriend!"

"She was on the sidewalk, not in the road. A-Train was high on drugs—he turned her into a mess of blood and flesh, splattered everywhere."

"The ridiculous part is that Vought International's lawyers found Hughie to sign a nondisclosure agreement, offering him a humanitarian settlement. Know how much? A paltry forty-five thousand dollars!"

"Are you going to help him get justice, to uphold righteousness?"

Starlight's mouth hung open, words failing her.

"That bearded guy is Billy, a former CIA black ops member. His wife worked as a network administrator for Homelander, and Homelander defiled her before she disappeared."

"Are you going to help him get justice, to uphold righteousness?"

Starlight was left speechless. After a long pause, she murmured, "How—how do I know if what you're saying is true or false?"

"It's you who needs the answer, not me!" Su Quan stood up and walked away.

Starlight hesitated a moment, then scrambled to her feet to chase after him.

But suddenly, a thumb-sized figure darted out from the side, instantly growing to normal size, blocking Starlight's path.

"Hey, beautiful, wanna have some fun with me?"
