Queen Medusa rules the Snake-people tribe of the Tagor Desert. Facing a shortage of tribal resources, she orders the capture of high-status human women for ransom in pills and gold, though she also orders the remaining captives released if the tribe comes under attack. Her priority is strengthening the tribe sufficiently to leave the desert, where the Snake-people had been driven by humans. 33 34

She first encounters Bai Xiaoran while investigating the woman repeatedly raiding Snake-people forces in the desert. Intrigued when Bai copies her technique, Medusa abandons her initial intent to kill him and begins pursuing him instead. 29 30

At the Green Lotus Core Flame’s location, Medusa effortlessly overpowers Bai Xiaoran and Qing Lin, seals Bai’s Dou Qi, and takes him to the Snake-people tribe as her personal maidservant. She supplies him with cultivation resources while demanding obedience and service. 30 31 32
