"What is it?" Da Minglun asked blandly. He had suddenly realized that this fellow's words and behavior seemed somewhat out of place in this world.
"Why does the grilled fish smell like Lu'er... uh, maybe it isn't coming from the grilled fish." Yue Qianchou muttered. His face emerged from behind the two huge grilled fish. "Do you smell some kind of fragrance?"
"Nonsense. Of course it's the smell of grilled fish." Da Minglun answered irritably.
"No, could it be..." Yue Qianchou's eyes lit up as he immediately swept his gaze around.
Da Minglun's pupils suddenly contracted as he looked at him. A transparent wall of mysterious rippling light had abruptly appeared where Yue Qianchou stood. Were it not for the shimmering ripples, it would have been almost impossible to notice. Yet Yue Qianchou, standing inside it without realizing it, was looking around like a furtive thief, as though he had stolen someone's two grilled fish.
"Watch your back!" Da Minglun cried out. Yue Qianchou was startled and spun around. His entire body abruptly vanished from where he stood. Da Minglun shot forward at high speed, and a string of light wheels burst from his sleeves, streaking toward that wall of mysterious rippling light with the force of thunder. Yet the blazing light wheels struck empty air. The wall had vanished almost at the same instant Yue Qianchou disappeared.
Da Minglun flashed over and searched everywhere around the grill. Dozens of retrieved light wheels hovered around him protectively as though he faced a formidable enemy. Then he shot into the air and rapidly swept through the surrounding area, but after searching every direction, he could not find even a trace of Yue Qianchou.
