"Lord Danzō, everything has been cleaned up!"
A Root subordinate came before Danzo and spoke respectfully.
"Take it back." Danzo looked around. All the snake corpses had been cleared away and packed into bags. As for Orochimaru's mangled body, it had been placed in a separate sack.
With everything settled, Danzo returned to Root with his subordinates.
As soon as he returned to Root, Danzo dismissed his subordinates, leaving himself alone. He walked up to Orochimaru's corpse and opened the sack.
Danzo stared at that familiar face.
"Orochimaru, are you really dead? I don't quite believe it..." Danzo muttered as he looked at Orochimaru's face.
After speaking, Danzo reached out and touched Orochimaru's face. It was cold, without any warmth. He rubbed it gently, then frowned.
"No. Something's wrong."
Danzo felt that something was off about the texture. He began examining it carefully, and when he reached the chin, he finally found the problem.
That face had been pasted on.
Danzo took a deep breath, carefully pinched the edge, and peeled away a thin mask, revealing a woman's face beneath it.
Looking at the unfamiliar face, Danzo spread the mask open under the light. It was indeed Orochimaru's appearance.
He looked at the mask, then lowered his head to examine the woman's face on the corpse. After comparing them several times, a thought suddenly sprang into Danzo's mind, and once it appeared, it could no longer be stopped.
