Seeing Thor stride over in uncontrollable rage, ready to make a move, Rimuru's voice thundered into his ears.
Thor froze slightly. The fury in his heart had long since robbed him of reason, and he roared without hesitation, "Of course I'm going to kill him with my own hands!"
"Then you should hurry..."
Rimuru placed Algrim before Thor and said calmly, "For every second you waste, another one of your people will die outside."
If he wanted to leave a deep impression on Thor, Rimuru would have preferred to simply let the man go. That way, he could have slipped into the dark passage at once and escaped into another dimension.
But considering Thor was the sort of person who only had one track in his mind, and that he had just lost his mother, doing so might have shattered what little reason he had left. After some thought, Rimuru decided to be gentler.
As a king, one truly should not become consumed by one's emotions, abandoning the quickest and best option for one that was less efficient.
Because that would betray one's people, as well as the responsibility of being king.
Still, easy for those who had not suffered to tell others to be good. Everyone knew the right thing to do, but whether they could actually do it... that was another matter entirely.
Rimuru watched Thor raise Thor's Hammer high.
As Algrim cried out in terror, "No... no...!" endless lightning crashed down upon him like a storm!
Rimuru let him turn to ash. As black mist spread out and devoured him completely, he saw Thor, having successfully avenged himself, pick up Jane Foster and walk toward the entrance of the dark passage.
"What are you doing?" Rimuru was startled.
"I'm going to end this war... and save Jane..."
