The Hand, Walong.
The Foot Clan, Shredder.
The Hand Clan, Madame Gao.
Add Allen, representing the League of Assassins, to form a new round of quadrilateral talks.
Aside from The Hand, the other three could be considered global assassin organizations. If it weren't for their fear of The Hand's Undying Master and the Shadow Khan's Forces he controlled, they wouldn't have been invited to the alliance.
"Ra's al Ghul has retired, sending you to discuss important matters."
Shredder spoke with disdain. He didn't take this newcomer seriously, not even if the Ninja Master himself showed up would he necessarily give him face.
"What species are you?"
As soon as they met and were met with contempt, Allen didn't hesitate to activate his 'King of Trash Talk' mode.
This sentence made Shredder's heart clench.
His true form was a top secret. Once exposed, it would surely make the entire world his enemy.
After all, Earth's internal affairs were none of an alien species' business.
Allen's little mouth wouldn't let up. He muttered to the ceiling, "What's in the sewers? There are four turtles and a rat in the sewers. They can't be killed, they can't be killed. They can't be beaten, they can't be beaten."
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were sworn enemies of the Foot Clan, and Shredder had repeatedly suffered defeats at their hands.
Today, someone had touched a raw nerve, enraging him to the point where his wrist blades instinctively popped out.
"You've gone too far. Apologize to Lord Shredder immediately."
Madame Gao, the leader of the Hand Clan, chimed in to support him. The three families had privately decided to suppress the rapidly developing League of Assassins, and this was the perfect opportunity to make an issue of it.
"I'm a blind man. Why are you all making things difficult for a blind man?" Allen said leisurely.
Madame Gao clearly understood who he was referring to – Daredevil.
That damned blind man repeatedly clashed with the Hand Clan, his authority constantly challenged.
As a result, he had lived quite comfortably for years, going through girlfriends one after another, and watching them die one after another.
"Are you looking for death?"
Madame Gao's eyes narrowed. She struck her cane on the ground, signaling the assassins hidden in the shadows. One more strike and they would kill him.
"Oh my~"
Allen's voice rose. He rolled up his sleeves and declared righteously, "You bullies can't pick on a blind man, so you want to pick on a fool like me? You old hag, I'm here today to uphold justice for the disabled."
"Everyone, calm down. Give me some face."
Walong anxiously stepped in to mediate.
They were all skilled martial artists, while he was just an ordinary person. If a fight broke out, with swords and blades flying, losing a limb would be too great a loss.
"Alright."
Allen put down his sleeves and said leisurely, "I'll give you face because you have a handsome face. Say hello to your boss, Calendar Man, and his entire family for me."
Walong: "..."
Calendar Man.
He was naturally referring to The Undying Master.
And to say hello to his entire family.
Was he sure he wasn't just insulting him?
Actually, Walong had misunderstood Allen. With his unusual thought process, how could he say normal things?
"Sir, are you insulting The Undying Master?" Walong asked angrily.
"No, I'm not."
Allen wore an innocent expression and scanned the three representatives, saying aggrievedly, "You don't welcome me, so I'll leave!?"
With that, he stood up, called Bruce and Oliver, and headed for the exit.
As they neared the exit.
Allen stopped and looked back, asking, "I'm really leaving."
However, Shredder, Madame Gao, and Walong watched him. Their gloomy expressions made it clear they had no intention of stopping him.
After the three left the conference room, they sat down again to discuss various matters.
"Just say the word, and I won't leave."
Before they could speak, Allen returned, acting as if he was giving them another chance, and if they didn't stop him now, he would truly leave.
The three pairs of eyes stared blankly. Allen pouted and said irritably, "How old are you all? You get upset over a few words and become petty. It must be due to an incomplete childhood causing psychological issues."
"I'm going to kill him."
Shredder roared and rose, preparing to strike and kill the damned lunatic.
"Heh heh heh, I hit a nerve and he's embarrassed, kekeke..."
Before escaping, Allen couldn't resist a parting insult.
If Madame Gao hadn't blocked him with her cane, Shredder would have pursued him.
"Discussing important matters is paramount. Isn't it perfect that the League of Assassins isn't present?" Madame Gao said calmly.
"Are you saying we'll just let the humiliation slide?" Shredder asked, his voice deep.
"You don't need to act personally. He has at most seven days to live."
The meeting broke down.
Allen and the other two found a motel to stay in.
Oliver went out to scout for the Blade of Redemption's location, waiting for the League of Assassins to deliver their equipment.
Flying was out of the question with regulated items, and their combat knives and arrows were likely locked up at the station after being found in their luggage.
Knock, knock...
"Who is it?"
Allen got up from the bed and opened the door.
"Someone's here to deliver something for you."
The receptionist handed him a rectangular package wrapped in newspaper.
Allen was a bit confused. He took it and closed the door, muttering, "I didn't order anything online, why would I get a delivery?"
He tore open the outer packaging, revealing an old-fashioned videotape.
"A precious glimpse into humanity's reproduction, a vintage collector's edition."
Allen's eyes narrowed into slits, excitement coursing through him.
The door to the forbidden was so captivating.
He inserted the tape into the TV and pressed the power button.
Allen sat up straight, legs together, hands on his knees, his eyes filled with a critical gaze.
The screen flickered with static, not immediately displaying an image.
"Bad connection?"
Allen walked up to the TV and patted its casing.
Just then, a black and white image appeared.
A woman was combing her long hair in front of a mirror. The angle of the shot made it seem as if it were filmed by a Peeping Tom.
"Looks like a vintage Japanese film with a plot."
Allen's anticipation grew. He leaned in close, afraid to miss a single detail.
Within minutes, more static appeared, and the screen shifted to show a group of people crawling distortedly on a lawn. They looked incredibly strange and bizarre, as if in immense pain, yet seemingly seeking a solution, their strong will to survive driving them to crawl inch by inch.
"Multiple people, outdoors, this is getting exciting."
Before Allen could see the scene he was anticipating, more static rolled across the screen.
The next image showed a person wearing a hood, standing by a river, pointing in a direction without speaking.
"Shit, who the hell is so bored they'd film an abstract art film."
No matter how slow Allen was, he could tell this wasn't the educational film he liked. He immediately reached to turn off the TV and go to sleep.
However, when he pressed the button, the video continued to play.
"The TV's broken. The owner's not going to rip me off, right?"
A young man raised under the red flag, Allen didn't believe in ghosts, only science.
He decided to pull out the big guns.
He pulled the plug.
To his surprise, the image continued to play.
A well sat in the silent, secluded forest.
As the frames stuttered, a pale hand appeared at the mouth of the well.
Allen looked at the plug in his hand, then at the image on the screen.
A woman with disheveled hair, her face obscured, climbed out of the well. She slowly straightened her hunched body, then walked forward, as if about to emerge from the television into reality.
The woman grew closer and closer until her white clothes filled the entire screen.
The video ended.
Ring, ring...
Suddenly, the landline on the bedside table rang.
Allen picked up the phone.
"Is that you, Sadako? Sadako, I'm your fan."
"..."
