Background / History
Bruce was identified by Ra’s al Ghul as one of the League of Assassins’ most valuable prospects. Beyond his potential as an operative, he was the heir to the Wayne Group, a corporation with businesses throughout Gotham and assets worth hundreds of billions. Ra’s intended to use Bruce and Oliver Queen’s corporate resources to finance the League’s ambitions. 5
While training with the League, Bruce met Allen and Oliver. Ra’s later assigned all three to travel to America, attend the Four-Party Summit, and retrieve the Blade of Redemption from Silent Hill. Bruce warned Allen that Ra’s intended to dispose of him during the mission, but Allen dismissed the warning. 6 7
Bruce and Oliver escaped Silent Hill, searched for Allen for five days, and reported his disappearance to the police. More than a decade later, Bruce encountered Allen again in Gotham while operating as Batman. Allen recognized Bruce through the initials “BLS,” forcing Bruce to conceal the exchange from Commissioner Gordon. 18
After Allen defeated Damian and the other members of the Bat-Family, Bruce personally tested him. Allen cut the reinforced bat ears from Bruce’s cowl in a single exchange, leading Bruce to accept Allen into the Bat-Family. 19
The Court of Owls later captured Bruce because he was needed as a temporal anchor for their Dark Multiverse plan. Although skeptical of Allen’s claims about the Court, Ibis Priests, and five special metals, Bruce investigated Serpent’s Blood beneath the Batcave. He and Alfred were subsequently restored unharmed by pure Serpent’s Blood. 28 29 32
During the Dark Knights’ invasion, Barbatos imprisoned and drained Bruce to sustain a dimensional portal. Allen forced Barbatos to release him by presenting twelve Infinity Gems as a countermeasure. Bruce survived and acknowledged that he owed Allen for the rescue. 175 176
Appearance
As Batman, Bruce wears a fully black combat suit that leaves only his mouth and eyes exposed. His cowl has pointed bat ears and is made from a high-tech composite material capable of resisting close-range rifle fire. 18 19

- Pointed-eared cowl; Allen once cut both ears off during their duel 19

Personality
Bruce is guarded and deeply protective of his civilian identity. He refuses to publicly acknowledge Allen when doing so could expose him, explaining that he has too many enemies for his identity to be known. 18
He approaches threats through preparation, investigation, and contingency plans. He maintains several temporary bases, specialized laboratories, and hidden facilities for equipment resupply, analysis, and antidote production. 75 78
Bruce follows a no-kill principle, preferring imprisonment over execution even when dealing with criminals such as the Joker. He views Serpent’s Blood as a possible means to save allies in future emergencies, revealing both his pragmatism and concern for those around him. 30 32
Although often skeptical of Allen’s erratic explanations, Bruce repeatedly takes his warnings seriously when the stakes involve Gotham or the wider world. 29 176
