History

Tang Hao initially intervenes in Tang San's education after Yu Xiaogang proposes entering Tang San in the All-Continent Advanced Soul Master Elite Tournament. Concerned that Spirit Hall may recognize Tang San's identity, he insists Tang San must not reveal the Haotian Hammer during the competition. 41

To secure teammates for Tang San, Tang Hao lures Xu Changqing to Notting Academy's rear mountain and pressures him into joining Shrek Academy. He displays his Titled Douluo aura and gives Xu Changqing only two options: accept or refuse under threat of force. 43

After Xu Changqing removes the Blue Silver Emperor from a hidden cave and leaves a message for him, Tang Hao begins actively pursuing Xu Changqing. He later intercepts Xu Changqing's group, demanding the return of A Yin and the surrender of Xiao Wu; he threatens to kill everyone else if they refuse. 62 91

Tang Hao battles Xu Changqing, Xiao Wu, Ning Rongrong, and later Qian Renxue in Sunset Forest. Although his Haotian Hammer techniques and Ring Detonation repeatedly break their encirclement, his old injuries worsen throughout the battle. He survives the encounter but is left in a severely damaged state. 91 92 93 94 95

At Shrek Academy, Tang Hao regains his legs and recovers his damaged meridians and old injuries through an inconspicuous restorative fruit. He plans to replenish his missing Soul Rings and rebuild his strength alongside Tang San for revenge against Xu Changqing. 117

After Tang San flees Spirit City, Tang Hao abandons his own escape to cover his son's retreat. He throws Tang San into a river, then faces Xu Changqing, Bibi Dong, Chrysanthemum Douluo, and Ghost Douluo alone. He detonates five Soul Rings to escape their fusion skill and attempts to kill Xu Changqing, but is trapped and ultimately slain by the Yin Yang Five Elements Seal. 151 152 153 154

Appearance

Tang Hao is a tall, broad-shouldered middle-aged man with a weathered face and heavy stubble. He typically conceals himself beneath a hooded cloak, but his rage reveals blood-red eyes and an increasingly disheveled appearance. 43 91 96

  • Usually wears black linen clothing and a cloak with the hood lowered over his face. 91
  • Summons a large silver Haotian Hammer, often wreathed in lightning. 43 91
  • After the Sunset Forest battle, his face is bloodied and his beard is matted and filthy. 96

Personality

Tang Hao is cold, domineering, and willing to use overwhelming force to achieve his goals. He treats coercion as a legitimate means of persuasion, threatening Xu Changqing into joining Shrek Academy and later demanding A Yin and Xiao Wu under threat of death. 43 91

He is also fiercely protective of Tang San. His concern over Tang San's exposure to Spirit Hall drives his opposition to the tournament, and he ultimately chooses to sacrifice himself so Tang San can escape pursuit. 41 151

Tang Hao is pragmatic enough to disregard his own reputation when pursuing an enemy. After witnessing Xu Changqing's growing power, he considers ambushing and assassinating him rather than confronting him openly. 118

Abilities & Skills

Haotian Hammer Martial Soul

Tang Hao possesses the Haotian Hammer, a tool-type Martial Soul associated with overwhelming direct offense. His hundred-thousand-year ninth Soul Ring and Titled Douluo-level pressure make him one of the strongest combatants among his peers. 91

  • Uses Haotian Bodyguard to block incoming attacks with the hammer as a shield. 93
  • Uses Enemy-Breaking Myriad Jun to smash through swarming Divine Dragons. 93
  • Uses Martial Soul True Body and Nine-Nine Returns to One to launch a devastating hammer strike at Ning Rongrong. 92
  • Can employ the Chaotic Cloak Hammer Technique to forcibly break through an encirclement. 92

Great Sumeru Hammer

Tang Hao's strongest hammer technique generates a massive, continuously advancing strike with enough force to annihilate numerous attacks at once. Xu Changqing and Xiao Wu consider it impossible to block normally without an invincibility-type ability. 94 151

  • Can continue attacking repeatedly until it releases its accumulated force on a target. 94
  • Obliterates more than a dozen Heavenly Wasteland Fall attacks without slowing. 94
  • Its power forces opponents to rely on teleportation, defensive Soul Bone Skills, or coordinated interruption. 94

Ring Detonation

Tang Hao can shatter his own Soul Rings to obtain a temporary explosive increase in power. The technique is highly destructive but inflicts severe backlash and permanently costs him the detonated rings. 93 117 152

  • Detonates a single century ring to block a combined assault. 93
  • Detonates multiple rings during the Sunset Forest battle, worsening his existing injuries. 94 95
  • Detonates five rings at once to escape the Two Extremes Static Domain. 152
  • The resulting internal injuries leave him bleeding and limit the duration of his enhanced state. 152

God of Slaughter Domain

Tang Hao possesses the God of Slaughter Domain, which previously made his battle against Xu Changqing's group substantially more difficult for them. 117

Relationships

  • Tang San — His son. Tang Hao protects Tang San's identity, supports his growth, and sacrifices himself to secure Tang San's escape. 41 151
  • Xu Changqing — Enemy. Tang Hao first coerces him into joining Shrek Academy, then pursues him after the Blue Silver Emperor is taken; Xu Changqing ultimately kills him. 43 62 154
  • A Yin / Blue Silver Emperor — Tang Hao seeks her recovery after Xu Changqing removes the Blue Silver Emperor from the hidden cave. 62 91
  • Yu Xiaogang — Consults with him over Tang San's tournament participation and later receives his report that Tang San is being watched in Spirit City. 41 142
  • Qian Renxue — Hostile opponent. Their clash is driven by a blood feud connected to Qian Xunji and Tang Hao's lost family. 95
  • Tang Xiao — Younger brother of the Clear Sky Sect's Sect Master; Tang Xiao later confronts Xu Changqing to avenge Tang Hao's death. 173
