Background / History

Early life and Nuoding Academy

Tang San enters Nuoding Academy with Old Jack and initially recognizes that Chu Fan is exceptionally strong. He later becomes Yu Xiaogang’s disciple, despite first withholding an answer when Grandmaster asks whether he will accept instruction. 36 37 39

At the work-study dormitory, Tang San develops an immediate attraction to Xiao Wu, who rejects his attempts at conversation. Chu Fan’s dismissal and closeness with Xiao Wu lead Tang San to define him as an enemy under the Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record. 42

He follows Chu Fan at night and attempts an assassination with sleeve arrows and other Hidden Weapons, believing Chu Fan has harmed Grandmaster and “taken” Xiao Wu. Chu Fan defeats him decisively, but Tang San resolves to train until he can surpass him. 44 46

Conflict with Chu Fan and inheritance of his bloodline

Tang San repeatedly attacks Chu Fan with Hidden Weapons, Blue Silver Grass, and later the Clear Sky Hammer, but suffers severe defeats—including the crippling of both arms at Shrek Academy. 77 120 213

After reuniting with Tang Hao, Tang San accepts his father’s harsh training to become strong enough to oppose Chu Fan and Spirit Hall. Tang Hao reveals that Tang San’s Blue Silver Grass is actually the Blue Silver Emperor, then provides a ten-thousand-year skull bone that elevates Tang San’s Purple Demon Eye to the Mustard Seed realm. 219 223

His Blue Silver Emperor awakening is completed through the Blue Silver King, who recognizes Tang San as the emperor of Blue Silver Grass. Tang Hao is emotionally shaken by Tang San’s altered appearance because it reminds him of Tang San’s mother, Ah Yin. 223 224

Slaughter City and Clear Sky Sect

Tang San becomes known as Asura in Slaughter City, where his Hidden Weapons, poisons, and Tang Sect secret arts make him feared in the Hell Slaughter Arena. 248

Tang Hao later reveals Ah Yin’s death, Spirit Hall’s conflict with the Clear Sky Sect, and his own mutilation to preserve his life long enough to see Tang San restore the sect. Tang San absorbs the soul bone left by his mother, greatly improving his meridians and refining his Soul Power. 264

Seeking recognition from the Clear Sky Sect, Tang San kneels before Tang Xiao and offers to bear responsibility for Tang Hao’s actions. He presents Tang Hao’s two spirit bones and later releases Divine Slaughter’s Domain to silence hostile sect disciples. 268 270

Sea God Trials and godhood

Tang San trains on Sea God Island, breaks through Rank 70, and undergoes the Sea God’s trials. After completing the seventh trial, he gains the Sea God Trident and is tasked with obtaining nine rings for both martial souls, gathering all spirit bones, and resurrecting a companion within five years. 302 326

He encounters the King of Slaughter, purifies him with Sea God’s Light, and learns that he is Tang Chen—Tang San’s great-grandfather. Before dying, Tang Chen gives Tang San the Clear Sky Sect chief elder token and entrusts the sect’s future to him. 327 329

Tang San subsequently hunts hundred-thousand-year soul beasts in the Star Dou Great Forest, targeting Da Ming and Er Ming for spirit rings. He also considers using Xiao Wu or even his mother as a source of power, showing the extent to which vengeance and ambition have altered his judgment. 329 331

Following the Sea God inheritance, Tang San becomes a god with nine hundred-thousand-year rings and one blue-gold divine ring. He returns to confront Qian Renxue and Bibi Dong, eventually awakening and wielding Asura God power alongside his Sea God divinity. 356 359 368

Appearance

Following the Blue Silver Emperor awakening, Tang San is depicted with long blue hair and clear blue eyes. In godhood, his body is protected by blue-gold Sea God Armor and eight wings evolved from his Eight Spider Lances. 268 367 369

  • A blue trident mark appears on his forehead as a sign of the Sea God’s selection. 302 358
  • His Sea God Armor bears wave-like cloud patterns and manifests with the Sea God Eight Wings. 358
  • When drawing upon Sea God and Asura God power together, his body becomes red, blue, and black. 368
  • His Eight Spider Lances originally appear as eight purple-black, barbed spider legs extending from his back. 212

Personality

Tang San is calculating and highly pragmatic in combat. He analyzes opponents’ advantages, relies on speed and surprise attacks against stronger enemies, and considers Hidden Weapons a legitimate means of killing regardless of whether the attack is open or secret. 44 45

His life is heavily driven by resentment toward Chu Fan and Spirit Hall. That hatred motivates his training, his willingness to endure painful inheritances, and his determination to restore the Clear Sky Sect. 219 264 348

He can also be patient and deferential when it serves a larger objective. At the Clear Sky Sect, he kneels before hostile elders and accepts humiliation to secure the possibility of returning to the clan. 270
