Origin and Rule of the Extreme North

Snow Empress is an ice-and-snow spirit born from the Extreme North's spiritual essence. Described as the Extreme North World's daughter, she has received its protection since birth—a major reason she could cultivate to nearly 700,000 years. She lives in its central region, where the spiritual energy is richest 7 9 127.

As its Dominator, she commands the complete reverence of the region's Soul Beasts. Her authority exceeds even Ice Empress's: her decisions are treated as law, and she can summon a gathering comparable in scale to a massive beast tide. She is also ranked third among the continent's Ten Great Beasts 302 376 572.

During her long rule, she eliminated powerful, bloodthirsty Fierce Beasts and accumulated a substantial collection of Ice Attribute Soul Bones 380.

Meeting and Teaching Su Yu

Snow Empress first encounters Su Yu while investigating the Extreme North World's unprecedented blessing of a human child. His connection to the great Dominator and Di Tian's protection make her curious, while their shared connection to the Extreme North gives her an unexplained sense of closeness despite her usual dislike of humans 7 9.

She invites him to return for guidance in Ultimate Ice. Su Yu subsequently spends several months each year cultivating in the Extreme North, with most of his instruction coming from her 10 126 132.

Abduction and Dual Transformation

Seeking a path to immortality and godhood, Snow Empress consumes a snow lotus to transform into a human. A Rank 9 Soul Master from the Sun Moon Empire discovers her during the process and captures her with the Rank 9 Platform of Conferring Gods. Su Yu and Ice Empress pursue him, and Su Yu retrieves her embryo from his storage bracelet 127 128 130.

The interrupted transformation leaves her unstable. She offers Su Yu her Soul Ring, partly as a test of his intentions and partly out of concern for his future Heavenly Tribulation. He refuses to sacrifice her for his own advancement 132 133.

Hai Bodong then helps her absorb Shapeshifting Grass essence. The two transformation methods conflict, leaving her in a child's body with her original cultivation sealed rather than lost. She accompanies Su Yu while recovering, and later offers to teach him the Snow Emperor's Three Absolutes as compensation for her earlier actions 135 139 144.

Restoration and Succession

At the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Eyes, medicinal treasures and the Ice Extreme Cold Spring accelerate Snow Empress's growth and restore part of her power. She explains that her human–Soul Beast state allows her to convert and unseal her former cultivation instead of starting over like an ordinary transformed Soul Beast 365 366.

Before leaving the Extreme North to pursue a new level of cultivation, she gathers its Soul Beasts and appoints Titan Snow Demon King, A-Tai, as her successor. She also persuades Little White to become Su Yu's sixth Soul Ring, while refusing to consider sacrificing A-Tai because the region needs its new ruler 376 377 379.

Ice God Palace and Divine Assessments

Snow Empress accompanies Su Yu to the Ice God Palace and triggers a divine trial by sitting on an ice-crystal cushion before the Ice God statue. Su Yu's recognition as the future Ice God later changes her relationship with him: her longstanding faith in the Ice God helps her relinquish much of her pride and express affection more openly 398 405.

She selects Majesty of the Ice God in preparation for an anticipated combat assessment. After restoring her cultivation to Level 93, she faces Shui Lingguang in a test requiring her to last twenty minutes. Forced onto the defensive, she uses Ring Detonation and multiple domains; the trial ends with her passing but injured 565 571 572 573.
