History

Yao Lao first appears as a fading soul force within Xiao Yan while Yun Shan threatens the Xiao Family. His weakened state leaves him unable to fully shield Xiao Yan from Yun Shan’s pressure. 1 Despite this decline, Xiao Yan later explains that Yao Lao had guided him through years of humiliation, renewed cultivation, Heavenly Flame absorption, and alchemical growth. 7

After Xiao Chen returns, Yao Lao reveals his identity as Yao Chen and expresses astonishment at Xiao Chen’s Seven-Star Dou Venerate cultivation and Heavenly Soul Realm. Xiao Chen, in turn, acknowledges Yao Lao’s role in remaking Xiao Yan and promises to seek a cure for his soul injuries. 7

Xiao Chen begins treating Yao Lao with the Chaos Flame, a fusion flame capable of nourishing souls and stabilizing origins.
