Heroes Make Their Entrance

In New Mexico, the events of Thor 1 were playing out.

Since Coulson had not gone to contact Tony Stark, he was able to take over the work here more quickly. Overall, however, the plot of Thor 1 had not changed much.

The dim-witted Thor was still hit by a car, then met Jane Foster. The two fell in love at first sight, and a series of goofy, hilarious, yet somewhat heartwarming events followed.

Wang Khan did not arrive until Thor broke into the S.H.I.E.L.D. base at night to retrieve his hammer.

Wang Khan was wearing a set of bulletproof leather armor, including a bulletproof helmet. He was armed to the teeth.

"Guardian, time was too tight this time. We only managed to make one Vibranium Gauntlet. Once the battle begins, you must be extremely careful. There are plenty of heavy weapons in the base below, and Hawkeye Barton is there too. If he spots you, he'll definitely open fire like a madman."

Wang Khan removed his helmet and rubbed his aching temples.

He had worked day and night for two straight days. Whenever he had enough physical strength, he activated the Meditation Experiment, which had drained both his mind and body. Despite possessing stamina beyond his level, he still had two dark circles under his eyes.

"Hawkeye? That least memorable Avenger is just there to fill the roster. He's nothing to fear. Has anything else happened with S.H.I.E.L.D. lately?"

"One thing did happen. I monitored conversations between some agents and discovered that part of them were searching for Black Widow Natasha. It seems she was kidnapped."

"Huh? Someone kidnapped Black Widow? Who was that blind? Could this be bait? How could someone like Natasha possibly be kidnapped?"

A virtual display appeared before Wang Khan, followed by Red Queen's voice.

"Guardian, this situation is different. After the previous Battle of London, Black Widow was struck by your Shockwave. Not only was she seriously injured, but everything below her left knee was shattered. She is now disabled. In her current condition, she cannot possibly continue as a field agent."

"Disabled?!"

Red Queen shared the intelligence she had gathered with Wang Khan. After reading it, Wang Khan wore a strange expression.

"She was taken from the dormitory assigned by S.H.I.E.L.D.? Hahaha, I can roughly guess who did it. S.H.I.E.L.D. has been so arrogant for so many years that they can no longer see themselves clearly. Sure enough, power without restraint only leads to internal corruption."

Thor had already been captured. Wang Khan knew Loki should have arrived by now, so he immediately instructed Red Queen to use the thermal imaging system.

"Target located, Guardian. There really is an invisible person. He is standing right beside Thor's Hammer."

"So this is invisibility magic? I have to admit, without equipment support, this is still quite practical."

The many Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in the base below had not noticed Loki at all. No wonder Loki looked down on Earthlings so much in Avengers 1.

Although Asgardians as a whole had been weakened in the MCU world, when it came to individual abilities, they were still far stronger than Earthlings.

"Any news from Smart Spider?"

"Thor's blood sample has already been obtained. I never expected a mighty Asgardian to be subdued by a few orderlies."

Red Queen's tone showed an unusual emotional fluctuation. Needless to say, thanks to Vibranium, her mainframe functions had been upgraded again.

"Thor's divine power was sealed by his father Odin. Right now, he's about as strong as a physically fit Earthling. Also, don't underestimate hospital guards. There are so many medical disputes these days that hospital security isn't weak at all."

Being familiar with the plot, Wang Khan naturally knew about the scene where Thor was sent to the hospital for treatment after being hit by Jane Foster's car.

At the hospital, Thor received a full physical examination, including a blood test.

That was Asgardian blood, and royal Asgardian blood at that. Wang Khan naturally would not let such a rare blood sample slip away, so he sent Smart Spider to steal it.

Just as Red Queen recovered the blood sample, Thor was taken away by Jane Foster's companion, Dr. Erik.

At the same time, Loki left in frustration after discovering that he could not lift Thor's Hammer.

"Follow Loki. He should know the secret route between Earth and Asgard. Find that route for me!"

"Be careful. Loki isn't a careless fool like Thor. Don't let him discover you."

"Rest assured, Guardian. I dispatched modified Tracking Spiders. They are only the size of flies. He will never notice them."

After Thor and Loki had both left, Wang Khan knew it was time to make his move.

A hero made his entrance, leaping directly from hundreds of meters in the air and plunging straight toward Thor's Hammer.

Boom!

A powerful Shockwave canceled out the impact of the fall, then transformed into a fierce blast that sent every building within dozens of meters flying.

Shouts of alarm, cries of pain, and even miserable screams intertwined within the base.

Several military jeeps were blasted into the air by the Shockwave, tumbling more than a hundred meters away.

"What happened?!"

Coulson was fortunate. Since he had been seeing Thor off, he had been standing farther from Thor's Hammer. When the Shockwave came, he dropped to the ground in time and avoided injury, though his precarious hairline was covered in dust.

"Enemy attack!! It's Shockwave Man! That bastard is attacking us again!"

"Return fire! Kill him!"

Several agents raised their guns to shoot, while Red Queen, who had been providing aerial support, immediately relayed the enemy situation to Wang Khan.

Wang Khan raised his right hand. The newly made Vibranium Gauntlet emitted a purple glow, and then, with a boom, a compressed Shockwave spread toward them in a fan-shaped arc.

Crack! Crack!

The ground was crushed and warped, like a surging tidal wave rushing toward the agents.

The immense impact made it impossible for those agents even to remain standing, much less aim and fire.

Acting on a soldier's instincts, several agents immediately threw themselves to the ground to evade the Shockwave. Unfortunately, this Shockwave had been compressed through the Vibranium Gauntlet. Not only was it more powerful, but its range was more tightly controlled, leaving no blind spots at all.

Amid a deafening blast, those agents were flung into the air. Their bodies began to twist and deform before they even landed, and by the time they hit the ground, they had stopped breathing.

"Fall back! Get out of here! Don't fight him head-on!"

Coulson immediately ordered a retreat while contacting headquarters to request reinforcements.

Everyone retreated, except for one person: Hawkeye Barton.

He had spent this entire period living with guilt, believing that he bore some responsibility for Natasha's injuries.

Now that Natasha had disappeared, he naturally assumed Wang Khan was responsible.

Enemies had met face-to-face, their eyes burning with hatred. How could he possibly retreat?

Several high-explosive arrows flew in. With a wave of his hand, Wang Khan blasted them more than ten meters away.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

A series of massive explosions erupted, each equivalent to an RPG blast. Wang Khan was not hit directly, but the shockwaves from the explosions still made his body sway. It was far from pleasant.

"Hawkeye, you're fucking asking for death. I'll grant your wish!"
