The Powerful Abomination

Inside Dr. Samuel Sterns's laboratory at Grayburn College.

Bruce Banner and Betty Ross were listening to Dr. Sterns introduce the Anti-Hulk Serum he had developed.

"So you're saying you don't even know whether this serum can cure me?"

Stern spread his hands.

"Cure or death, who knows? But this is a chance. If it succeeds, you can return to a normal life. If it fails, you can escape your current life all the same. It's a win-win."

Betty was about to say something, but Banner waved his hand.

"Let's begin, then. Having even a chance of success is already rare enough."

Banner had had enough of this life of constant fear, a life where he could not even find a girlfriend. Just as Dr. Sterns had said, even death would be a kind of release. After all, in his current state, he did not even have the ability to kill himself.

If he shot himself in the mouth, the Hulk could spit the bullet back out afterward. Every other method of suicide was like a theme-park ride to Banner. Aside from providing a little excitement, they were completely useless. So this was his only chance—a chance at rebirth and a chance at release.

After thinking it through, Banner lay down on the examination table. His limbs were secured with sturdy straps. With a crackle of electricity, his blood was mixed with the serum and then injected back into his body.

Amid agonized roars, Banner reacted violently. His body rapidly expanded like a balloon, and the sturdy straps around his limbs were torn apart like paper, accomplishing nothing.

Dr. Sterns stared at the Hulk in horror, but a trace of madness flickered deep in his eyes.

"Don't stop! Keep going!"

Betty climbed onto the Hulk, causing the rampaging Hulk to calm down slightly. As more serum was injected, the Hulk was finally suppressed. His body began to shrink, and eventually he transformed back into Banner.

"My God, this is a miracle! We could win the Nobel Prize for this!"

After recovering, Banner stared speechlessly at the exuberant Dr. Sterns in front of him.

But after chatting for a few moments, he was shocked to discover that the other man was conducting experiments with the blood sample he had mailed over earlier.

After a heated argument, the three of them arrived at the cold-storage room. There, Banner saw hundreds of liters of blood replicated from his own blood sample.

In the past, Banner had been careful to wipe away even a single drop of blood. Now, he immediately lost his temper.

He demanded that Dr. Sterns destroy all the blood samples at once. Dr. Sterns was a typical mad scientist, the kind of man willing to do anything reckless for the sake of an experiment.

Naturally, he refused to destroy those precious blood samples. Just as the two sides were arguing, the military began to act. A tranquilizer dart struck Banner in the back, knocking him unconscious on the floor.

The following events unfolded just as they had in The Incredible Hulk. Banner and Betty were captured, while Blonsky, whose mind had already been driven insane by the Super Soldier Serum, threatened Dr. Sterns into injecting him with the Hulk's blood sample. He was then exposed to high-intensity Gamma Rays.

Finally, in a scene straight out of a horror movie, the Abomination made his entrance.

The Abomination stood over four meters tall, towering even over the Hulk. More remarkably, he still retained a degree of reason and could speak.

Although the Abomination's rationality was actually no better than that of a mental patient, this clearly made him even more dangerous.

Explosions, riots, slaughter, and death unfolded in Harlem, New York. Many Black-owned shops were smashed, while cars were tossed around like toys before crushing one innocent passerby after another.

"General, take a look at this!"

Through the cameras mounted on the soldiers at the scene, General Ross witnessed the Abomination's rampage. He turned back in shock to look at Banner, who was looking back at him as well.

"You created this?"

Ross was speechless and embarrassed, but he still had some sense of responsibility. He immediately ordered the aircraft to turn back.

At the same time, Iron Man and S.H.I.E.L.D., who had been monitoring the incident, also discovered the newly born monster known as the Abomination.

"Ross, what the hell did you do?!"

Nick Fury's expression was savage, while Coulson's face was grave.

"Director, what should we do? Should we have Skye act?"

"Act? Didn't you see the destruction that big guy is capable of? If Skye goes in, she won't last three minutes before being torn apart!"

"Have Barton act. Clear out Dr. Sterns's laboratory. Something like this can only be kept in our hands. We absolutely cannot let the military have it."

Coulson hurried off to issue the order. Iron Man's reaction was much simpler. After seeing the Abomination wreaking havoc, he did not hesitate and immediately flew over in his Iron Man suit.

However, someone was faster than Tony.

"Ah~~~"

The Abomination lifted a two-seater sports car into the air. The young couple inside screamed in terror. The Abomination then threw both the people and the car into the sky, sending them straight toward a building a hundred meters away.

Just as the car was about to crash into the building, two tough strands of webbing shot in from opposite sides. The instant they stuck to the car, its powerful momentum pulled the webbing taut, producing the creaking sound of cables under strain.

In the end, the car was successfully stopped before it struck the building, averting a disaster.

A red-and-blue figure leaped onto the car, grabbed the young couple, and used webbing to lower them to the ground.

"I'm your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. It's too dangerous here. Get out of here, now! Run east!"

"Thank you, thank you~~"

Spider-Man raised his hands and shot out two strands of webbing, saving a woman the Abomination had thrown into the air. Then, without bothering with any more banter, he charged straight toward the Abomination.

"Bang!"

Spider-Man threw an off-road vehicle, sending it straight into the Abomination's head. The impact made the Abomination's body tilt and forced him back two steps.

"Hey~~ big guy, this is a public place. Could you stop?"

"Roar!"

"So there's no talking this out, huh? Then I'm going to arrest you and take you to the police station. You'd better have money for a lawyer, or you'll be spending the rest of your life behind bars."

Spider-Man moved like an agile monkey, leaping wildly in every direction as he hammered the Abomination from all sides. At first, the Abomination raised his arms to block a few attacks, but soon he could not be bothered to defend himself.

"Bang!"

Spider-Man slammed a foot into the Abomination's chin, but the Abomination did not react at all. Instead, he let out a contemptuous laugh.

"Sorry, I haven't eaten dinner yet, so I'm a little hungry. So... ah~~"

Spider-Man let his guard down for a moment, and his right leg was seized. He was then thrown toward a distant building.

Spider-Man immediately shot out webbing, stuck it to the Abomination's shoulder, and pulled himself back.

Then webbing shot out in every direction, wrapping around the Abomination's entire body like a giant rice dumpling. But the Abomination flexed both arms and tore all the webbing apart.

"He can't handle it. I have to go!"

In the end, Banner still jumped from the aircraft, smashing through the ground. Then, amid the roar of a beast, the dazed-looking Hulk made his entrance.

"Hulk~~ you finally came!"

The Abomination punched Spider-Man away, then charged toward the Hulk. Although the Hulk felt that something was wrong with his body, as if he had been drained completely, he still chose to meet the attack head-on.

The two hulking figures battled fiercely in the streets of Harlem. Spider-Man, who had just crawled out of the rubble, stared at them in shock.

"Another one? Is it Halloween today or something?"

The moment he finished speaking, Spider-Man saw a bolt of lightning descend from the sky, striking straight toward the Hulk and the Abomination.
