Samlet stared at him for a while, until cold sweat beaded across Lokasky's forehead, before finally shifting his gaze away.
"I hope it really is as you said—merely concealing his tracks. Otherwise, if anything truly happens to His Imperial Majesty, I really will go mad.
"I imagine you don't want to see what I look like when I go mad. Otherwise, none of you will come to a good end."
Samlet's words were chilling to the bone. At that moment, Lokasky was genuinely intimidated.
The Samlet they had known before had always had something weighing on his heart. He would remember that His Imperial Majesty was still around, would seek to survive, and thus hold back.
But His Imperial Majesty Brown was not even truly an adult yet, much less did he have any heirs.
Without the Emperor to bind him, if Samlet truly went mad, then unless another Emperor Hops appeared—or the gods of legend truly descended—
No one could say how many people, or how many powerful experts, would die.
"You've fallen into madness."
Lokasky said with an extremely ugly expression.
Samlet, however, revealed a grim smile.
"You're right. I fell into madness two hundred years ago, on that very day. If His Imperial Majesty the Fourteenth, His Imperial Majesty the Fifteenth, and His Imperial Majesty today had not still been here, I would have long since cast everything aside and slaughtered everything."
"What do you mean by that? You're the master of the Demigod Temple. How can you say such things?"
