Honestly, Noah himself felt that he was being a little contradictory.
Not wanting to get involved in Harry's affairs was his own decision, but in the end, choosing to join in had also been his own decision.
Honestly, Noah wondered if he had split personality disorder or something.
But after thinking it over for a long time, Noah came to two conclusions. First, he was the kind of person who was especially good at courting death and enjoyed taking part in this sort of plot.
Come to think of it, it made sense. It was rare to come to this world and know whether the things that were going to happen would be dangerous to him.
Anyone would probably find it hard to control their thoughts, right?
Of course, if there was danger, or if the danger level was especially high, then probably not many fools would be willing to get involved.
There was another point Noah strongly agreed with: he felt that he had chosen to join in so he could deal with Dumbledore.
That was right, deal with Dumbledore. Up to now, Noah's Mage Alliance had not recruited a single Slytherin member, which completely failed to meet Dumbledore's requirements!
So Noah believed that his biggest reason for joining Harry in this incident was to deal with Dumbledore, hoping that this matter would make him forget that Noah had failed to recruit any Slytherin members.
Of course, even if he could not forget, it did not matter. Noah was helping Harry deal with Voldemort—wasn't that enough?
Noah thought it was absolutely enough. If anyone dared say it was not, Noah would definitely have it out with them!
"Believe it or not, I believe it anyway!"
After Noah told Evan and the others what he thought, he immediately gained their support.
Indeed, they still had not found a suitable Slytherin. That truly was a major mistake. But if they helped Harry deal with Voldemort, then perhaps there was still room to turn things around.
"Sorry, everyone. It's my fault."
Kate felt rather guilty, since he was the one responsible for the Slytherin side.
But for various reasons, he had still been unable to persuade his friends. Things within Slytherin were far more complicated than he had imagined, so Kate had always blamed himself and felt anxious.
But now, there seemed to be a turning point. Naturally, Kate was fully supportive! Besides, after hearing Noah's analysis, he also felt that this time might not be as dangerous as they had imagined.
After the afternoon classes ended, Noah and the others still went to the Room of Requirement for some training after dinner.
But this time, unlike before, they did not drain all their magic. They had not forgotten that they still had plans for the night.
When Midnight's moon rose high in the sky, Noah and the others set off.
Harry and Ron had long been waiting for them in the Forbidden Corridor on the eighth floor. Although the two were clearly a little annoyed that Noah and the others had come late, they did not dare say it aloud.
"Are you all ready?" Noah glanced at the two and asked quietly.
"Don't worry, Noah. We're ready. I had Ron pass the information to Professor McGonagall. In about half an hour, Professor McGonagall will receive the notice," Harry replied in an equally quiet voice.
It was rest time now, and Hogwarts did not allow students to wander around in the middle of the night. What they were doing clearly violated Hogwarts's rules.
If they started making a loud racket now and were accidentally discovered by a passing professor—or Filch—they would be in trouble.
"Good. Let's go."
Noah nodded, then took the lead toward the Forbidden Corridor. Everything in Hogwarts looked gloomy and sinister at night, especially with ghosts drifting past from time to time, making it even more terrifying!
Noah felt that this place would be fucking perfect for filming a horror movie!
There would be no need for special effects. They only needed to film everything normally and add some creepy music, and it would be done!
Of course, that was only something Noah thought about. He was not sure whether cameras could even capture ghosts.
Even if they could, convincing Hogwarts to make a movie? That would not be easy. It was probably an impossible task altogether.
"Alohomora."
When they arrived before the door Dumbledore had specifically warned them not to approach, Noah drew his wand and cast the spell directly at the lock. With no obstacle whatsoever, the door swung open.
Opening the door so easily gave Noah no sense of accomplishment at all. Instead, he could not help complaining inwardly.
Sure enough, this was fucking meant for Harry to play through!
If someone really wanted to guard something properly, how could they not place defensive magic on the door?
Obviously, they thought there was no need, because if they set up such things, Harry might not have been able to open the door at all!
"Whoa! This dog is huge!"
When they entered the room, they immediately saw the Three-headed dog lying in the middle of it, dozing. Evan could not help making a joke, clearly not very afraid of the dog.
It was not just him. Aside from Harry and Ron, probably no one else was very afraid of the dog either.
"It is huge, but it stinks too, doesn't it? Its drool could practically fumigate sewer rats to death!" Luns could not help complaining. Clearly, he had no interest in giant dogs.
"Don't talk nonsense. Sewer rats can handle smells far worse than that. Could you not act like an idiot?" Kate frowned as well, but he did not forget to fire back at Luns.
"Say, is this really okay?"
Harry was starting to lose it. This group did not seem to take the Three-headed dog seriously at all.
Ron was even more nervous. He had been watching the Three-headed dog the entire time, truly afraid that the thing might suddenly wake up.
"There's nothing to be afraid of, Harry. It's asleep now, and we can make it sleep even more deeply. Even if it wakes up, we have plenty of ways to deal with it." Noah smiled confidently.
"The Three-headed dog is a hybrid beast. Encyclopedia of Monsters: Hybrid Beasts has information on it, and there are many ways to deal with it. For example, using hybrid beast oil, but the ingredients are difficult to find, and refining it takes time." Luns immediately chimed in carelessly.
"Another way is to use a Beehive Bomb. Of course, those are difficult to find at school too. Knockturn Alley should sell them, but only if you have money," Ernie added casually.
"The final method is to use high-intensity offensive magic. Noah can definitely do that. Of course, if you are lucky and this thing is asleep, you only need to hit it with a Drowsiness spell, and everything will be settled." Hermione added at last.
Harry and Ron stared blankly at the group. They had casually brought up knowledge the two of them had never even heard of, and had clearly explained how to deal with the monster they found terrifying!
They suddenly regretted asking them for help.
Wasn't this fucking crushing their confidence?
What kind of monsters were these people?
They were already reading books that introduced magical creatures?
Were they planning to become Witchers or exorcists?
