Holding Hermione's hand, Noah figured there was nothing much to do, so he simply decided to take her to find Captain Jack.

But just then, Hermione suddenly said, "Noah, did you notice that Madam Swan may have come into contact with a mage?"

"Hm?" Noah tilted his head, quickly understanding what Hermione meant. "You mean something on her carries a certain magical fluctuation? I sensed it, but it isn't our kind of magic. And it's very evil."

"It really is evil." Hermione recalled the sensation from when she had touched it and nodded seriously. "Do you think someone is trying to harm her?"

"I don't know about that." Noah spread his hands. "If that's true, we can just help her. I think you felt it too—the restrictions this universe places on us seem rather weak."

Hermione nodded. It was the first time she had felt something like this. At first, she had thought she was mistaken.

But now it seemed that wasn't the case. Hermione knew that Noah had traveled to other universes before, so she wasn't surprised that he understood this situation so clearly.

He had probably encountered this sort of thing many times, which was why he thought there was nothing unusual about it.

If the universe's restrictions on them were weak, that meant they could wield even greater power.

"By the way, does this universe have a magical civilization?" Hermione asked as they walked. She was genuinely curious about this place.

"I don't know." Noah thought back, but this wasn't an easy question to answer.

If this universe had magic, that would not be surprising. From what Noah remembered, both those immortal pirates and the things his friends had mentioned in passing—some giant squid or sea god, though Noah had never seen it himself—all proved that magic
