"Commanding Inferno Power through one's own will!?"
Hearing Nora describe the organization's creed, Lin Sheng raised his eyebrows, surprise showing on his face.
"Exactly. Sounds unbelievable, doesn't it? Or downright fanciful."
Seeing Lin Sheng's reaction, Nora gave a soft laugh.
"The Oath of Embers really is interesting, and they certainly dare to dream big. They actually think they can control the corruption of Inferno Power through their own will alone. If resisting Inferno corruption were that easy, why would everyone in the Crimson Prison Society be a lunatic?"
"And according to the records within our Eye of the Dead, those unrealistic fantasies are precisely why the Oath of Embers fell so far. When they first split off, they could stand toe to toe with the Crimson Prison Society. Yet barely ten thousand years later, they've vanished without a trace, their ranks dwindling. The Crimson Prison Society doesn't even have to lift a finger. They die agonizing deaths fighting Inferno corruption all on their own."
At this point, she paused and set down her wineglass with an indifferent look.
"So if they're showing up in Greenwood City now, they're probably hiding from the Crimson Prison Society. There definitely can't be many of them left, either. Besides, the Guard Army officially treats anyone who comes into contact with Inferno Power as a cultist. You don't need to worry, Li Wei. They'll be too busy hiding themselves to cause any trouble, and they wouldn't dare, anyway."
"Understood."
After hearing Nora out, Lin Sheng nodded.
He lost interest in this so-called Oath of Embers.
It was merely a tribal organization scraping out a precarious existence through history.
It did seem to pose little threat.
"If you're still worried, I can arrange for someone to investigate discreetly. I'll let you know if anything turns up."
