The long street outside the Crimson Lightning Company teemed with pedestrians and traffic.
Towering buildings lined both sides of the street like teeth in a comb. Giant screens played all manner of advertisements, filling the scene with the distinctive bustle of a prosperous metropolis.
Lin Sheng strolled down the street, constantly recalling Cole's words and the generous terms the Crimson Lightning Company had offered.
Soon, he reached an alley at a street corner, where a hunched figure had been waiting for some time.
It was He Ping.
"Greetings, leader."
The moment He Ping saw Lin Sheng, he bowed slightly.
Lin Sheng waved a hand, and the two walked deeper into the corner.
Lowering his voice, Lin Sheng spoke slowly.
"In a few days, I'll be heading into the Endless Void. If you stay in Forest City, make sure you conceal your movements. Experts from the Crimson Prison Society are lurking in the city. You and A-Huan need to be careful not to expose yourselves. Also, watch out for searches by the Guard Army and other official forces. After the trouble the Crimson Prison Society has caused, security throughout Forest City will probably become much tighter. If possible, you'd be better off leaving Forest City for now and establishing yourselves outside it."
He Ping's expression instantly turned serious. He nodded and said solemnly, "Rest assured, leader. I'll be careful. Please take care in the Endless Void as well. Those people from the Crimson Prison Society are devious and treacherous. They might try to strike at you from the shadows."
"I know." Lin Sheng nodded. "All right, you can go."
He Ping nodded again, gave Lin Sheng a long look, then turned and slipped into the crowd, soon vanishing from sight.
Lin Sheng watched his figure disappear into the stream of people.
