Little Black, perched on Lin Sheng's shoulder, immediately sensed the complete transformation of his aura. His flagging spirits rallied at once, and his languid, bored eyes lit up.
"Your injuries are all healed? We can leave!"
Lin Sheng shook his head slightly, gazing gravely at the pitch-black rock overhead, as though he could see the world outside through the thick layers of decaying mud and sand.
"My injuries have healed, but that doesn't mean the danger is over. Those two old bastards won't give up easily. They're probably still outside, with a net spread across heaven and earth, waiting for me to show myself."
Little Black's face fell, filled with frustration.
"Then what do we do? We can't stay trapped here forever!"
This past month had been sheer torment for him. Although the erosive power posed no threat, the natural repulsion here made him terribly uncomfortable.
"There's no hurry."
Lin Sheng remained composed. After a moment's thought, he already had a plan.
"Let's probe a little first and see what things are really like outside."
As he spoke, his gaze settled on Little Black.
An instinctive sense of foreboding rose in Little Black. He backed away several steps warily and said in a low voice,
"What are you planning? I'm telling you, this king-"
"You're small, and your Meltform Rules excel at concealment and transformation. You're the best choice to scout the edge of the Erosion Zone."
"Absolutely not! Those are two Desolate Tier beings! If this king happens to-"
"Then forget it. If you're unwilling, just wait here. I can spend some more time in secluded cultivation."
Lin Sheng spoke indifferently, his expression unchanged, then made as though to resume cultivating.
Little Black immediately panicked at the sight. His expression shifted repeatedly before he finally gave a reluctant reply.
