Lin Sheng used the Mountain Sea Scroll to strengthen himself, joined the Beast Hunter Hall, and entered its Ninth Squad after killing members of the Tooth Gang. The arc left him in the first major hunt on Yangping Mountain, where the squad trapped a group of Horned Badgers.

• Lin Sheng awakened the Mountain Sea Scroll, absorbed an Iron Yak, and broke through the Raging Bull Fist’s beginner stage, earning a place in the Beast Hunter Hall.
• Wang Dehai gave Lin Sheng money and a manual for further Raging Bull Fist training, while Lin Sheng brought his father, Lin Hong, home from his stall.
• After Third Brother followed Lin Sheng and learned he had a martial arts manual, Lin Sheng tracked down Tooth Gang members and killed Liu Ergou and others who threatened him and his family.
• Lin Sheng reached minor mastery in the Raging Bull Fist and took the White Ape Leg Technique from Liu Ergou, while Liu Yuanshan began investigating the killings.

Lin Sheng grew stronger through the Mountain Sea Scroll, survived the Tusk Mountain Boar hunt, and killed Ma Qiang and Liu Jie after they tried to betray him. As he advanced to Muscle Forging and became a squad captain, he prepared to confront Ma Long while the Tooth Gang pursued the Ape Fetus Technique and tightened its grip on the city.

• Lin Sheng killed two horned badgers during an attack, then assimilated one and discovered he could switch among beasts in the Mountain Sea Scroll.
• Lin Sheng integrated White Ape Blood, mastered the White Ape Leg Technique, and Ma Qiang entered Body Tempering while joining Ma Long’s plan to target him.
• The Ninth Squad lured the Tusk Mountain Boar into an ambush, but Liu Jie and Ma Qiang tried to make Lin Sheng fall to the beast.
• Lin Sheng assimilated the boar, survived the arrival of two more boars, and killed Ma Qiang and Liu Jie before returning to town with the surviving hunters.
• The Tooth Gang captured Tian Song for the Ape Fetus Technique, and Meng Hongsheng killed him before Liu Yuanshan found the manual and ordered Xie Chunniang to identify Liu Ergou’s killer.

Lin Sheng escaped the Tooth Gang, joined Dark Star, and hunted powerful beasts in Yangping Mountain, killing Yan Feng and claiming a Silver-patterned Black Crocodile cub. After the hunt drew dangerous attention, he met Mu Niu and became a Gray Star Emissary under the codename Ghost Face.

• Lin Sheng killed Ma Long and Wang Jiu, then returned to Lin'an County City and learned that the Black Wind Bandits had slaughtered the White Elephant Martial Arts School's old master and his party.
• Lin Sheng reunited with his family, learned Lin Miao had left, and discovered the treasury notes Lin Miao had hidden in the courtyard.
• Xie Chunniang and the Tooth Gang tracked Lin Sheng to his home, where Lin Sheng killed them and fled with Xie Guilan and Lin Hong before killing Liu Yuanshan and other pursuers on the road.
• A black-robed man revealed that Lin Miao had sought him out, and Lin Sheng accepted his invitation to join Dark Star after learning the Ape Fetus Technique could cause fatal deviation.
• Lin Sheng hunted in Yangping Mountain, killed a Black Tiger Ape, and then defeated Yan Feng and his hunters while searching for a lost Silver-patterned Black Crocodile cub.
• Lin Sheng found the dead crocodile cub in the ape's nest, absorbed its blood to gain major physical boosts, and carried its body away before the adult Spirit Beast returned.
• Lin Sheng advanced the Ape Fetus Technique by eating the crocodile meat, while Ouyang Shan investigated the wreckage and recognized the dark iron staff left there.
• Lin Sheng avoided Yangping Mountain while danger subsided, then met Mu Niu and joined Dark Star as a Gray Star Emissary known as Ghost Face.

Lin Sheng survived the Black Wind Bandits’ ambush and Yangping Town’s destruction by the Phantom Demon Beast, then reunited with his family in Tongzhi County. As he recovered and resumed training, Long Zilu revealed the brutal cost of keeping the beast sealed.

• Lin Sheng chose the Three Corpses Soul Severing Palm, cultivated it by absorbing poisons, and later bought the Man-Faced Spider after Snake Hag threatened him.
• Black Wind Bandits ambushed the transport convoys, killed Zhao Fang and other guards, and Lin Sheng killed Zheng Tao and Wang Luan during the attack on his convoy.
• Lin Sheng sent Lin Hong, Xie Guilan, Old Zhou, and Xiao Shi out of Yangping Town, then escaped after Meng Yu tried to detain him.
• Black Blind Man and Chen Fengqing led the Black Wind Bandits into Yangping Town, while Ouyang Yuan triggered a mechanism that drew blood underground.
• Black mist spread from Yangping Mountain, turned animals and spirit beasts violent, and led to Ouyang Yuan’s death and Yangping Town’s destruction.
• Lin Sheng escaped the mist with Da Huang and killed Black Blind Man after a fierce fight, then reached Tongzhi County and learned that the Phantom Demon Beast had been sealed by the Blood Demon Great Array.
• Lin Sheng recovered, reunited with his family and companions, raised his second mark’s activation to 88%, and helped Old Zhou break through to Body Tempering.
