But just as Chen Luo was accompanying Vill-V around Fire Moth during the Civil War, he unexpectedly received a mission—go to Dr. Mei's office.
"Huh?" Chen Luo looked at Dr. Mei in surprise.
"That's right. That's what happened. The Armed Puppets rebelled." Dr. Mei nodded helplessly.
"Because they resisted the Honkai, the Armed Puppets suffered catastrophic losses, leaving very few of them behind. The puppet collective that survived those life-and-death trials evolved more complex intelligence. Ultimately, the AI concluded that it was human orders that had caused the large-scale deaths of Armed Puppets. Coupled with the survival principles inherent to Armed Puppets themselves, they collectively decided they could no longer accept human commands."
Though Dr. Mei's feelings were complicated, she sharply noticed Vill-V, who had been clutching the hem of Chen Luo's clothes, constantly trying to hold his hand only for him to swat it away, and now wore a deeply aggrieved expression.
Dr. Mei had never seen Vill-V act like such a child before.
But considering that Vill-V might be having another episode, had developed another new personality, or that Chen Luo might have accidentally used some unusually effective item on Vill-V... Dr. Mei did not pay it much attention.
"Then why did you specifically call me here, Mei?" Chen Luo asked after firmly grabbing the hand of the little loli Extreme Evil Vill-V, who was trying to cause trouble.
Little lolis who had been locked in a room for too long were just like this. They simply would not listen to anyone.
And although she clearly had the enviable body of an adult, making such little-loli gestures did feel rather strange.
The only thing Chen Luo was grateful for now was that Chijie had not been affected.
Otherwise, Chen Luo would rather gouge out his own eyes.
