"The Flame-Chaser system? What happened? Is there a problem?" Hua asked after noticing Aili's unusual behavior.
Aili had even coaxed Griseo into agreeing to establish the Thirteen Flame-Chasers, so naturally she had not forgotten Hua. Hua therefore knew about it as well.
"Fire Moth's higher-ups don't approve. The Thirteen Flame-Chasers rejected my proposal and only agreed to let Kevin, me, Vill-V, Su, and you, Hua, form the Five Flame-Chasers." Aili sighed.
"Huh? Five Flame-Chasers?" Hua frowned.
"Yeah. They said Eden was someone without a future, that Aponia, Cosmo, and Chijie were too dangerous, and that they were wary of Doctor Mobius. Griseo was too young, while Pardo... they had never even heard of Pardo." Aili said gloomily.
In truth, Aili had put it rather mildly. In the eyes of Fire Moth's higher-ups, Aponia, Cosmo, and Chijie did not deserve the title of Flame-Chaser at all. Rather than heroes, they were more like thugs.
As for Doctor Mobius, her notorious reputation had spread far and wide. Some within Fire Moth had always considered her a demon, and the higher-ups often cut her budget, so their refusal was perfectly understandable.
Facts proved that Mei's idea had been correct. Science could not save the Previous Era, which was why Mei needed to become Fire Moth's leader.
But Mei was only the primary leader now, not the sole decision-maker. There were still some higher-ups whose opinions Mei could not simply override.
