"Element absorption?" Isaac asked curiously.
He was not particularly surprised that it was a variant. There were countless variants among demons, all strange and bizarre, and the vast majority were beneficial mutations. Very few—or perhaps none at all—were weaker than the original.
"They can absorb elemental power to strengthen their bodies and gradually gain command over that elemental power."
"That strong?" Isaac was genuinely surprised this time.
It seemed somewhat weaker than the original Balor Flame Demon, which already possessed flame abilities, but in truth, it gave them better options. For example, fire and water elements countered each other, which could be troublesome in actual combat.
It would have been fine if Balor Flame Demons possessed high intelligence, but unfortunately, they did not. Or rather, most demons did not. They only knew how to charge in headfirst.
Element absorption was different. It allowed them to acquire a specific elemental power, such as Lightning Elemental power. Its destructive force was no less than that of fire, while it had far fewer countering relationships.
Even when facing Earth Elemental power, it could not truly be said to be countered. At most, its effects would be less effective, but its powerful body more than made up for that.
Perhaps Balor Thunder Demons would appear in the future as well?
Shaking his head and pushing those thoughts aside, Isaac decided he had gathered enough intelligence. It was time to set off. The sooner he went, the sooner his brother could escape his predicament.
