Danas did not fail to understand what that word meant.
Yet at this moment, Danas realized that he completely could not understand what the supreme being before him was saying.
An incarnation?
What incarnation?
He was an incarnation?
Whose?
The Demon King's?
How could that be possible?
Questions sprang up in Danas's mind one after another.
Yet as those questions arose, Danas discovered that his heartbeat was growing increasingly violent.
It was no longer tension or fear, but the fierce reaction that came with a resonance as though they were bound by blood.
Thus, Danas understood almost immediately.
Everything the Demon King in the mist had said was true.
"I had long ago discovered that I possessed an incarnation."
"Unfortunately, unlike that Goddess, I was not so almighty."
"Her incarnation could merge with the grand ritual of Hero Summon and become a complete incarnation. Mine was different. Even after it was born, it remained merely an incomplete concept, able only to wander around me. It did not yet possess full consciousness, and no one besides me could detect its existence."
"I had thought that if an opportunity arose, then like that Goddess's incarnation, it should be able to merge with something and be born completely."
"Who would have thought that until the day I died, it continued to wander at my side, never truly being born?"
The Demon King's voice within the mist grew ever more sorrowful and desolate, as though it could stir up all the negative emotions between heaven and earth as it entered Danas's ears bit by bit.
"Unexpectedly, after a thousand years, after losing me, it found the opportunity it was meant to receive. It merged with one of Hermes's unborn descendants and was finally born in full."
