In the private room, Shien muttered the term Vivian had mentioned.
On the other side, Tier, Lumya, and Merika all seemed to grow grave at the mention of that term. One straightened her back, one swallowed nervously, and one tightened her expression, making the atmosphere around the three of them feel heavy.
Seeing that, Shien knew it was definitely nothing good.
And indeed, it was not.
"The Old Demon Faction refers to an extremist faction among demonkind." As if she understood Shien's doubts, Vivian began explaining. "They believe the way demonkind exists now has become severely distorted, that they are no longer as pure or orthodox as they were in the past. They think demonkind has lost what it should have been, so their purpose is to correct that distortion and make demonkind Return to Origin."
To others, those words might have made little sense.
But Shien, who already knew demonkind's current situation, easily understood what she meant.
"Make demonkind Return to Origin?" Shien curled his lip. "In other words, they think demonkind shouldn't be at peace with humans and the God Race?"
"That's the simple way of putting it." Vivian gave a bitter smile. "They believe demonkind originated from the Demon King, while the God Race and humanity are the enemies who slew their king. Yet demonkind today has wagged its tail at the God Race and humanity just to survive after the Demon King's death, abandoning its pride as demonkind for the sake of living. They see them all as traitors, so they've always wanted demonkind to return to what it was meant to be. Their hostility toward the God Race and humanity is extremely strong."
Vivian's explanation reminded Shien of that pretentious bastard's behavior.
