Missed Out on a Hundred Million?

"How is everyone? Are you all right?"

Inside the already-damaged inn, Shien asked the members of the Shalin Race.

Led by Shajina, the Shalin Race members still looked rather pale, but they had recovered considerably.

Shajina represented everyone as she bowed deeply to Shien in gratitude.

"Thank you, sir. You saved us again."

That was what Shajina said.

But Shien shook his head.

"This time, you got caught up in this because of me. If anything, I was the one who dragged you into it."

Shien's attitude toward the Shalin Race was much better than before.

Although they had been implicated by him, Shajina and the others' actions still left Shien very satisfied.

After all, when someone had used their lives as leverage, these Shalin Race members had not chosen to cooperate with them against him. Instead, they had refused, which undoubtedly earned them a great deal of Shien's goodwill.

Of course, Shien knew that Shajina and the others had not refused to cooperate entirely because of him. More than anything, it was because of the objective circumstances.

If they had cooperated with the Old Demon Faction against him, the Shalin Race would no longer have a place in the Succubus Territory, or even the entire Demon Realm. That was Shajina's true reason for refusing.

Even so, Shien was satisfied.

At the very least, it was a fact that they would rather lose their lives than turn against him.

Since that was the case, Shien naturally would not keep acting as though he were their savior.

However, Shajina clearly did not see it that way.

"It does not matter whether we were implicated or not. It is also a fact that you saved our lives, sir." Shajina smiled bitterly. "In the end, we are simply too weak. Otherwise, the same
