  • Shien met Laisha, who noticed his unusual magic and resistance to her Cognitive Interference, then later met the Goddess, who explained his Hero traits and the conflict between gods and demons.
  • Ryley and Vivian agreed that Shien should join Vivian’s party, despite her concern about adding a male rookie to an all-women team.

Chapters 1–25 Vol. 1 Read

Ch. 1The Summoned Hero

A Goddess summoned a dead, memory-wiped soul and asked him to defeat the Demon King in the world of Omnipotens. She revived him as the Hero Shien and sent him away with a radiant sword, hoping he would fulfill her wish.

  • The Goddess told the ghostly figure that he had died and asked him to defeat the Demon King in Omnipotens.
  • The figure accepted, knowing he had no other choice, and learned that his former memories could not return.
  • The Goddess revived him, named him Shien, and sent him to Omnipotens with a radiant sword.
  • The Goddess watched the empty air and hoped Shien would fulfill her long-cherished wish.

Ch. 2A Little Too Much?

Shien arrived in an unfamiliar forest in Another World and discovered that he possessed an extraordinarily powerful Holy Sword and two overpowered skills. He set out to find a way out of the forest, unaware that a hostile shadow was watching him from the sky.

  • Shien woke in a strange forest and wondered whether he had arrived in Another World.
  • A Holy Sword appeared in Shien's hand, and he learned it was exclusive to him and carried numerous powerful effects.
  • Shien inspected his status and found that he was level one with 100 Skill Points and the skills Heaven's Grace and Supreme God's Blessing.
  • Shien decided to leave the forest before worrying about defeating the Demon Lord, climbed a tree to choose a direction, and began clearing a path with the Holy Sword.
  • A shadow crossed the sky and watched Shien move through the forest with gleaming, vicious eyes.

Ch. 3"So Clichéd!"

Shien was attacked in the forest by a huge Fierce Bird and learned several skills as he struggled to survive. Realizing the Holy Sword reduced the damage he took, he stood to fight back as it empowered him and he learned Two-Handed Sword.

  • Shien learned Enemy Perception and sensed an attack just before the Fierce Bird struck him into a tree.
  • Shien identified the attacker as a gigantic, snake-bodied Fierce Bird with a human face and dodged its next dive, learning Evasion.
  • The Fierce Bird smashed a tree and struck Shien with lightning, prompting him to learn Physical Resistance and Magic Resistance.
  • Shien realized the Holy Sword reduced all damage by 99% and used its power to stand against the Fierce Bird.
  • Shien raised the Holy Sword toward the diving monster and learned Two-Handed Sword.

Ch. 4Not Something a Human Should Do

Shien killed the Fierce Bird with the Holy Sword’s enhanced skills, then vomited from the blood and realized how dangerous the forest was. He examined his new level and skill system, maxed out Two-Handed Sword, and wondered about the abnormal power of his abilities.

  • Shien dodged the Fierce Bird’s dive and severed its head with the Holy Sword.
  • Shien learned that he had acquired God of War, but vomited after being drenched in the Fierce Bird’s blood.
  • Shien sensed numerous dangerous monsters in the forest and decided to leave as soon as possible.
  • Shien picked up the Holy Sword and confirmed that it greatly expanded his Enemy Perception range and enhanced his skills.
  • Shien learned God of War, discovered that skills cost one Skill Point each and could reach Level 10, then maxed out Two-Handed Sword.

Ch. 5Skills of All Kinds

After his first battle, Shien maxed out six skills and used Enemy Perception to avoid monsters while trying to find his way through the forest. Lost as night approached, he headed toward stationary monster signals in hopes of finding a safe place to spend the night.

  • Shien recognized Heaven's Grace and the Holy Sword as the source of his extraordinary growth and power.
  • Shien spent sixty Skill Points to max out six skills, greatly improving their effects.
  • Shien left the Fierce Bird's corpse behind, and monsters arrived to feed on it about half an hour later.
  • Shien used Enemy Perception to avoid monsters as he traveled through the forest, but became lost.
  • With sunset approaching, Shien sought shelter and headed toward the locations of monsters that had remained still.

Ch. 6More Smoothly Than Expected

Shien used newly acquired Stealth and the Holy Sword to kill a Demon Dog guarding a cave, then claimed the cave as a hiding place. After disposing of the blood and dragging the corpse inside, he discovered the cave was filled with bones, rotting flesh, and a terrible stench.

  • Shien found a cave at the base of a cliff but saw a sleeping Demon Dog blocking its entrance.
  • Shien learned and maxed out Stealth, allowing him to creep silently behind the Demon Dog.
  • Shien stabbed the Demon Dog with the Holy Sword and survived the flames it unleashed without taking damage.
  • Shien acquired Assassination after killing the Demon Dog and raised the skill to max level.
  • Shien covered the blood, dragged the Demon Dog's corpse into the cave, and found its foul-smelling remains and bones.

Ch. 7Limit Break

Shien survived the night in the Demon Dog’s cave by roasting its meat, then continued through the forest and gained several skills from dangerous encounters with monsters. After learning to sense and use magic power, he wondered whether he could use magic and pressed on, more accustomed to fighting and forest life.

  • Shien cooked and ate meat from the Demon Dog, then settled down in its cave and fell asleep beneath the stars.
  • The next day, Shien began heading toward monsters instead of changing direction to avoid them, and encountered many dangerous creatures.
  • Shien learned Abnormal Status Resistance after being exposed to poisonous gas, Immortality after nearly suffocating in a swamp, and Limit Break after a monster pack knocked away the Holy Sword.
  • Shien discovered that he could sense magic power and gained the Magic Guidance and Magic Recovery skills.
  • Shien wondered whether he could use magic, then continued through the forest, defeating monsters and growing accustomed to combat.

Ch. 8How to Leave the Forest

After ten days of fighting monsters and surviving in the forest, Shien had become far stronger and defeated a group of Unicorn Monsters. When a flying monster appeared, he realized it might offer him a way to leave the forest.

  • Shien used Limit Break and his combat skills to evade the Unicorn Monsters and cut them down with the Holy Sword.
  • Shien reflected on how much he had improved, reaching level ten and learning thirteen max-level skills while still having 870 Skill Points left.
  • Shien harvested edible meat from the Unicorn Monsters and complained about his rough life in the forest.
  • A black flying monster appeared, and Shien thought of a way to leave the forest.

Ch. 9Take Me Out of This Forest

Shien spotted a Griffin and decided to ride it out of the forest. After mastering Riding and Taming, he calmed the Griffin by feeding it magic power, and it agreed to carry him toward the nearest town.

  • Shien used Limit Break to leap into the sky and land on the Griffin’s back.
  • Shien learned Riding and raised it to max level, allowing him to withstand the Griffin’s tornado and aerial maneuvers.
  • Shien struck the Griffin with the Holy Sword’s pommel, then learned Taming and raised it to max level.
  • Shien fed the Griffin magic power until it stopped resisting and agreed to take him to the nearest town.
  • Shien and the Griffin flew toward the edge of the forest.

Ch. 10"Another World, Here I Come."

Shien rode a Griffin out of the forest and reached the plains, where he spotted travelers and a walled town. He left the Griffin behind and set off toward the town, ready to enter human society.

  • Shien used Taming and continuously supplied magic power to the Griffin, which flew him across the forest.
  • Shien reached the forest’s edge and saw travelers, farms, and ranches across the plains.
  • Shien avoided landing near the travelers because the Griffin might provoke them, and he chose to head for a nearby town.
  • Shien landed in the countryside, thanked the Griffin, and told it to return; after circling above him, the Griffin flew away.
  • Shien watched the Griffin disappear, then walked toward the town and declared, "Another World, here I come."

Ch. 11Lamigium

Shien entered Lamigium and followed adventurers to the Adventurer's Guild, where he discovered he could understand the world's language and writing. The chapter left him speaking with a guild employee at the counter.

  • Shien entered Lamigium for free after a guard mistook him for an adventurer, and he followed the other adventurers toward the guild.
  • Shien wrapped his Holy Sword in animal hide to keep it from attracting attention.
  • Shien found the Adventurer's Guild and realized he could read its sign and understand the people around him.
  • Shien entered the guild hall, where a burly adventurer pointed him toward the counter.
  • A young guild employee greeted Shien and told him the town was called Lamigium.

Ch. 12"Adventurer's Guild"

Shien asked to become an adventurer and learned the Guild’s requirements, ranks, and methods for testing applicants. The Magic Tester emitted white light for Shien, but the guild employee froze when she read the text it displayed.

  • Shien asked a guild employee how to become an adventurer, and she explained the Guild’s history and role across Omnipotens.
  • The guild employee described the adulthood and level requirements for adventurers and outlined the seven ranks and their medals.
  • The guild employee introduced the Magic Tester, which could detect an applicant’s level, Skills, and Blessing.
  • Shien placed his hand over the Magic Tester, and it emitted white light before the guild employee froze at the displayed text.

Ch. 13An Unexpected Situation

Shien learned why the guild employee was surprised that he was level ten at age twenty without any skills. He realized the Magic Tester could not detect his seventeen high-level, Unique, and Special Skills, drawing the attention of nearby adventurers.

  • The guild employee explained that levels reflected growth and potential, and most humans reached level ten by age fifteen.
  • Shien learned that skills depended on aptitude and that even a level-ten adventurer would usually have mastered at least one.
  • Shien realized the Magic Tester had failed to detect his seventeen skills, including a Unique Skill, a Special Skill, and fifteen max-level skills.
  • Nearby adventurers began watching Shien as he understood how abnormal his situation appeared.

Ch. 14Becoming a Topic of Conversation

Shien’s unusual abilities drew attention at the Adventurer’s Guild, where he reflected on his strength and the limits he still faced. He registered as a provisional adventurer and left with a permit, while news of his strange skill-less level ten began to spread.

  • Shien considered how Heaven's Grace and the Holy Sword set him apart, but concluded that he was not yet invincible.
  • Shien asked the Guild clerk whether reaching level ten and coming of age qualified him to become an adventurer.
  • The Guild clerk provisionally registered Shien and explained that he needed an experienced party’s recommendation within one month to earn full status.
  • The Guild clerk gave Shien a one-month permit and told him to report the next morning to meet his assigned party.
  • Shien left the Guild as the adventurers began discussing the novice who had reached level ten without a single skill.

Ch. 15Who Might You Be?

Shien reflected on his wish to live quietly as an adventurer and defeat the Demon King without drawing attention. A beautiful young girl overheard him and challenged his lack of ambition, then hinted that her name was not something just anyone could learn.

  • Shien considered how he wanted to live an ordinary life despite being reincarnated as the Hero and tasked with defeating the Demon King.
  • As Shien walked through a busy street, a young girl overheard him saying he wanted to travel and steadily grow stronger without seeking fame.
  • The girl asked Shien why he did not want to make a name for himself like other adventurers.
  • Shien asked the girl who she was, and she teased him that not just anyone got to hear her name.

Ch. 16Sisters

Shien fled after meeting the mysterious young noblewoman Laisha, who became intrigued by his unusual magic and the power in his bundle. Though Shien believed he had escaped trouble, Laisha decided to remain in town and watch for him.

  • Shien apologized to Laisha and fled through the crowd to avoid getting involved with her.
  • Laisha met her maid, Lasha, who had returned with food, and explained that Shien had amused her by fleeing without knowing who she was.
  • Laisha noted Shien's unusual magic, the familiar power in his bundle, and his resistance to her Cognitive Interference.
  • Laisha decided to stay in town longer, while Shien, unaware that she had marked him, went looking for somewhere to rest.

Ch. 17A Reunion

Shien explored Lamigium, sold Thorn Horn Demon horns for two gold coins, and settled into an inn after ten days in the forest. Just as he relaxed after a bath, the Goddess transported him back to the temple where he had first been summoned.

  • Shien learned about the world's currency, magical goods, and Magic Crystals while exploring Lamigium.
  • Shien sold Thorn Horn Demon horns for two gold coins but kept the Sunken Scale Beast hide to protect the Holy Sword.
  • Shien bought clothes, checked into an inn, and took a long bath after spending ten days in the forest.
  • The Goddess appeared, transported Shien from the inn to the temple, and left him face-to-face with her.

Ch. 18The Only Thing She Granted

Shien met the Goddess again, who explained that she had summoned him alive to greet him after he reached a human town and became an adventurer. She clarified that his Holy Sword and Unique Skills were his own, while the Blessing she gave him was her only true gift, then began to tell him about the world.

  • The Goddess summoned Shien with his body while he was alive and said she wanted to greet him after he entered a town and became an adventurer.
  • Shien questioned why the Goddess had sent him into a monster-filled forest, and she said the experience helped him level up and discover his strength as a Hero.
  • The Goddess explained that Shien's Holy Sword and Unique Skills were innate Hero traits that she had merely awakened.
  • The Goddess described the God Race's long war against the demon race and said gods openly influenced the mortal world through Blessings.
  • The Goddess told Shien that the Blessing was the only thing she had truly granted him, then summoned tea so they could discuss the world.

Ch. 19World Principle

The Goddess explained the origins of the God and Demon Races, the creation of other races, magic, and monsters, and why the gods summoned Heroes to fight the Demon King. She revealed that fewer than ten Heroes had ever been summoned and that every previous Hero had come from a world different from Shien’s.

  • The Goddess described how the Demon Race’s greater numbers and combat strength forced the God Race to create other races to resist it.
  • The Goddess explained that the Demon Race had created magic and monsters, while the God Race had developed holy and support magic to keep the conflict balanced.
  • The Goddess told Shien that gods could not directly alter levels or skills because those rules were inscribed in the World Principle.
  • The Goddess explained that Heroes’ Holy Swords could raise levels and that people from other worlds might possess powerful Unique Skills because they differed from the Principle.
  • The Goddess revealed that fewer than ten Heroes had been summoned throughout history and that none of the earlier Heroes had come from Shien’s world.

Ch. 20"Pretty Cute."

Shien learned from the Goddess that Heroes came from separate ordinary worlds and that no previous Hero had defeated the Demon King. The Goddess judged Shien to have the greatest potential yet, then sent him back to his inn room after he discovered she could read his thoughts and learned her name was Nien.

  • The Goddess explained that gods could summon only rare people with Hero qualities from other worlds, and that fewer than ten Heroes had been summoned so far.
  • The Goddess told Shien that Heroes had varied in strength and that even a Hero might not be able to defeat the Demon King.
  • The Goddess said Shien’s Holy Sword and Unique Skill made him the most promising Hero yet, but Shien tested her by imagining inappropriate scenes and learned she could read his thoughts.
  • The Goddess blushed, scolded Shien, and told him to call her Nien before sending him back to his inn room.
  • Shien realized the encounter was not a dream, regretted not asking more questions, and thought Nien had been cute when embarrassed.

Ch. 21The Overlooked Possibility

At the Lamigium Adventurer's Guild, Ryley asked Vivian to assess a mysterious Level Ten newcomer who had no skills detected. Vivian outlined possible explanations, and Ryley revealed she wanted to put him in Vivian's adventurer party.

  • Ryley worked late at the Guild until Vivian came to visit in her heavy armor and tower shield.
  • Ryley showed Vivian a report about a twenty-year-old newcomer who had reached Level Ten without a detected skill.
  • Vivian proposed that the newcomer had trained in the wrong field, lacked earlier opportunities for training, or possessed a Unique Skill or Special Skill.
  • Ryley said the unusual newcomer was worth watching, and Vivian realized Ryley wanted to place him in her adventurer party.

Ch. 22The Decided Destination

Ryley asked Vivian to take Shien into her adventurer party so the guild could observe his possible Special or Unique Skill and guide him as a rookie. Vivian agreed despite concerns about accepting a male newcomer, and Shien’s destination was decided.

  • Ryley explained that people with Unique Skills could become valuable to the Kingdom and said Shien was worth observing.
  • Vivian agreed that Shien could use guidance, but worried about bringing a male rookie into her all-women party.
  • Ryley said Tier could break Shien’s arms and legs if he behaved improperly, after which the guild would revoke his qualification and expel him.
  • Vivian accepted Ryley’s arrangement, deciding that Shien would join her adventurer party.

Ch. 23Another Clichéd Development?

Shien went to the Adventurer's Guild to meet the team he had been assigned to join and learned that its leader was named Vivian. He entered the team's room on the second floor and froze at the sight of the people inside.

  • Shien woke at dawn, dressed in his new clothes, and set out for the Adventurer's Guild with the Holy Sword bundle.
  • At the guild, the clerk told Shien that his assigned team had gathered and directed him upstairs to meet Miss Vivian.
  • Shien overheard nearby adventurers whispering about his joining Vivian's team, but he did not notice their comments.
  • A guild employee led Shien to the team's room and announced his arrival to Vivian.
  • Shien entered the room and froze when he saw who was inside.

Ch. 24First Joining an Adventurer Party

Shien met Vivian’s all-female adventurer party and introduced himself to its members, Tier, Lumya, and Merika. Uncertain about joining a conspicuous group of beautiful women, he asked Vivian whether he could really join the party.

  • Vivian greeted Shien and explained that she was the party captain and would guide him for the next month.
  • Shien entered the private room and introduced himself to Vivian and her three companions, Tier, Lumya, and Merika.
  • Vivian felt reassured by Shien’s polite first impression but planned to observe his character before judging him.
  • Shien asked Vivian whether he could really join the party.

Ch. 25Duty and Pride

Shien agreed to join Vivian’s all-female adventuring party for a month of training after Vivian explained the guild’s tradition of senior adventurers guiding newcomers. The group headed to the guild hall to choose simple commissions, where their arrival drew everyone’s attention to Shien.

  • Shien asked whether joining Vivian’s all-female party would cause problems, and Vivian explained that training newcomers was a duty and a way to repay the guidance they had once received.
  • Vivian said the party would treat Shien’s training as a month-long break, and Shien accepted their help.
  • Vivian suggested that they take a few simple commissions so Shien could learn an adventurer’s work, and the others agreed.
  • Shien accompanied Vivian, Tier, Lumya, and Merika into the guild hall, where the adventurers fell silent and turned their attention to him.
