Venom wasn't about to submit so easily. Faced with Kraft's questions, he sneered in disdain, then took control of Eddie Brock and rammed him into the Energy Shield before them.
"Aaaaaah!"
The Energy Shield's built-in counterattack scorched Eddie Brock, making him howl, while the black substance covering him rapidly shrank back as though it had encountered its natural predator.
Regaining control of his body, Eddie Brock staggered back several steps and landed on his backside. Then he watched the black sludge surge out again and rapidly repair his burns.
"Ohhh-you're afraid of high temperatures."
Kraft narrowed his eyes and gave the Venom inside Eddie a decidedly malicious smile.
"W-wait! What are you planning?!"
Eddie Brock hurriedly raised both hands and tried to stop him. Kraft's intentions weren't hard to guess. The problem was that Venom was currently inside his body!
Never mind that Venom itself feared high temperatures-even if it didn't, and could repair his injuries, that still wouldn't make the experience any less painful!
"Rest assured. I'll interrogate this alien slowly, while making sure you remain safe," Kraft reassured him with a perfectly straight face.
Unfortunately, Eddie Brock wasn't reassured at all. "How could I possibly feel safe in this situation? You're violating my human rights!"
"Come on, Eddie. Don't tell me you still believe all that official propaganda?"
Kraft curled his lip. He knew plenty of reporters were naive fools brainwashed by so-called human rights ideals, but after everything Eddie Brock had been through lately, he ought to have faced reality by now.
"Besides, look at it another way. Helping me torture Venom means saving Earth from yet another alien threat."
Those words weren't really meant for Eddie Brock. They were meant to pressure the Venom inside him. If possible, Kraft didn't want to make things difficult for
