New York, Avengers Tower.
Wearing the latest Iron Man suit, Tony Stark landed on the tower's rooftop platform. He lightly tapped the LED light on his chest, and the suit folded away.
Removing the LED light from his chest and slipping it into his pocket, Tony Stark walked along the platform and into Avengers Tower.
"Tony, you're here."
Bruce Banner, who had been meeting with Stark frequently lately to develop Ultron, was the first to greet him.
"Where's the captain?"
Stark nodded to Dr. Banner in acknowledgment, then looked around before asking.
Most of the Avengers had already arrived at Avengers Tower. Nick Fury and Coulson were there too, along with the team of agents they had subsequently assembled. Only Steve Rogers and Thor were absent.
Thor's whereabouts were always unpredictable. Even when he came to Earth, he usually spent his time romancing his astrophysicist girlfriend, so he missed practically every meeting.
"Captain Steve has other things to take care of. He won't be joining this meeting for now."
Nick Fury, dressed entirely in black, answered him. He had been posing in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows, but now he turned and walked over to the conference table with a grave expression. Bracing both hands on its edge, he spoke before Stark could ask anything else:
"Now that everyone's here, let's discuss the Mutant Brotherhood."
"Oh... the Mutant Brotherhood..."
Hearing that name, Stark forgot to press his question, and his expression grew complicated.
Proud as Stark was, those two youngsters, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, had gotten the better of him several times. He had also been hit by Scarlet Witch's mental attacks and seen two visions that had thrown his mind into turmoil.
